PS3 Updated 17th Sept: White Knight Story Release Dec 25th, Confirmed.

Is this what the "day of awakening" was hinting at? Just a couple of days after we got that promise of new info from Sony, we hear that Famitsu has nailed down a date for White Knight Chronicles (that's White Knight Story to you and me): December 11.

Now, does that mean that you'll be getting your hands on this terrifically sexy PS3 RPG anytime soon? Well, no, not necessarily. But it's certainly not bad news if you've been salivating since our 2007 hands-on with the game.

Hurray! Its finally coming out =)

I hardly import games, I'd rather be able to understand the story, what the characters are doing, what's going on, the menu, whatnot. I can wait for it to come to NA.

Only cases I do import are if it's been released in Japan and Europe but no plans for release in North America, case in point Breath of Fire III for the PSP, I imported the European version, same thing with Terranigma for the SNES.

The Level 5 developed PS3 exclusive White Knight Chronicles has finally been dated: The game will be released in Japan on December 25, 2008. The RPG follows the relationship between a girl and a hero named Lenard who transforms into the White Knight. In an interview with Famitsu, Level 5's Akihiro Hino states that "game development isn't over yet" and "this is the biggest game Level 5 has ever developed." About the PS3, Hino added:

This is the first, big RPG that the PS3 has been waiting for.

This game was originally supposed to be a launch title but the devs thought 40 hours wouldn't be long enough. I really do hope that they've kept the graphics up to date as the standards have risen as these years have passed. Should be fun regardless.
