Using Newer Version FFXI Windower may get you Banned

we need to have a logical discussion about this with some higher up in SE but that will never happen
 
The only way they can find out is if you talk about it. It's illegal for them to do any sort of scan to find out what you're using on your PC. So just keep your mouth shut and you'll be just fine.
 
If that person would have just played dumb and told the GM he wasn't using windower then nothing would have happened to him. The GM didn't have a clue if he was really using it, that's why he asked which modifications he was using with windower.. so the guy would think he had been caught and to try and get him to confess to using windower, which he did confess to like an idiot.

Play it cool. GM's don't know everything.

ya.. I think if I do download the windower I'm not gonna say a thing and if I get busted by a GM I'll threaten a lawsuit.. woot! lawsuits are fun x.x
 
You can always say " I play on PS2 how can i run a 3rd party program".

BTW i play on PS2 and have my PC next to me at my disposal. :lol:

Having Windower = Ok, but not sure about the TP/HP% thingy. seem like a cheat also to me.

SE need to make FFXI able to run on Windows and full screen features.
When I'm seeking for pt, I'm not gonna stare at my moogle house for like damn 2-5 hours for pt invitation. and not having a window = easy to get dc'ed because someone aimed you and message you or something, or even a popup ads, and you can able to chat with friens on aims, etc or chat mail, or going you own thing.

I just hope that SE/GM don't do no spying of what we're doing. Violated personal privatacy (if that how you spell it? o.o :P)

Haha (off topic question) what happen if you can modified gil lol like using WinHex to change amount of gil you have : P, lol people can alway affort anything (I know you can't modified it, BUT! what if you CAN o.o?)

Well I never used the windower in the first place, probably never will. Sure it sucks to get kicked whenever Norton decides to be a dick. But its only a minutes loss of time really before you can get back on so its not really that bad.

And im glad I don't have to put up with these other issues as well.
 
Yes, they can't spy on us. FOI/POP generally rules supreme in court cases, if anyone would take it that far.

For those that dont know, Freedom of Information / Protection of Privacy = the act that started the "you can't spy on me without me saying ok" biz.

I've been avoiding the new windower for this reason alone... I'll stick with my good ol' 3.1 version or whatever I got, and spend an extra 30 seconds to make it work with each update.
 
Even if they DID use some sort of spyware to see what we were running on our machines they would still need you to admit to it to them in some sort of conversation before they could ban you for it if they have no legal proof...
 
They don't need legal proof to ban you, give me a break :roll:

Since any teen or even adult don't really usually read the Term of Aggrement, they may had adding something like (For example: by accepting this term, you have agree to let our Game Master to scan your software for any purpose, etc) that maybe possible you never know
 
hahaha ok he got caught A. because hes a dumbass and he was talking about windower like nothing or B. GM decided to to a random check on him for no appernt reason knowing he would post it everywhere and we would all get scared ;-) (highly doubt that since gms are lazy sons of a bitches)

Anyways if a gm asks me if i am using windower it will be a very enjoyable conversation as i will make fun of him seeing how he cannot tell if i am using the windower due to privacy laws or what the hell ever but yes... crack down on the windower GMs im sure it will be as sucsessful as banning botters ;-)

P.S. If you are a GM and happen to be reading this kiss my ass i was just joking about using the windower(or was i?) ;-) hahaha
 
I kinda wish it was only on Ps2...No bots, no hacks, no, or at least less gilsellers. Only down side is like 75% of the population would disappear.
