I don't think this is used enough outside of the green dot saying you want an exp party.

But there are many more uses for this, espcially for LS events, so I'm going to explain why I think it should be used more often. One of my friend uses this all the time for her sea/limbus LS; it not only tells the shell what they are doing for that day, but for other LSes in the area. I'm sure there are enough courteous shells out there that would rather not waste time crowding an area, and do other things in the mean time.

For example sky, if your LS needs diorites, and another LS leader put in their /seacom they are at the Ulli area, then you know that the Nexus is a better option. So far what most ppl do is, /sea the whole shrine, and ask each shell if they are doing diorites, and where. But, sometimes people don't see tells, don't reply right away, and many other reasons.

This can also be applied to sea, like, if your LS is doing Ix drk.

In limbus it just sucks to go find your Euvi (sp?) thing for a card, and realize the zone you need a chip from is taken, maybe have to tele out, kill another flower for another colour chip for a zone thats free. But if you know there are people in the zone you want beforehand, you can ask approx how long they still have, and plan accordingly.

It would also be nice if merit party leaders mentioned where their party is esp if its in Bhaflau Thickets. Just saying if you are through Nyzul or Mamool staging point is useful.

When I go to Batallia Downs, I like to /sea the area first and see whats in the bazaars, in case theres something that really sparks my interest. But because not everybody makes a comment so you still have to go through everyone to make sure you've checked everything.

I understand there will always be people/shells that just don't care about other ppl and will continue to on with their schedual, but overall, if more people started using it and start checking what other ppl are up to, and I think would save everyone's time.

*Hint, hint*

Seen this many time before in Jp /seacom.

When I played, I used to search batallia without ever having to go there, and Ive also used it to coordinate Assault missions

If the seacom function wasn't erased every single time I logged out I would use it more often. Although seriously, if I have {Dynamis-San D'Oria} written clear as day in my seacom while I'm in Southern San D'Oria, I may just be a little too busy to party...

The main problem with this is that the majority of things in Sky are on a window, and if you're in a zone saying "Camping Faust :D" then you're completely giving away ToD which in turn can often result in counter-campers. You can't exactly say "We don't know ToD" or something to prevent it from happening, either, since most people will assume that it's a simple ruse to discourage CCing.

It can work when farming sky/sea mobs that drop pop items, and can additionally work with the popped NMs, but using it with any of the window NMs is just a bad idea.

I hate when this happens.
And it's not like they can't read it too. It scrolls their chat window, clear as day. And yet still, sometimes when I seek for dynamis, I'll get the unavoidable "Party?". And if I get one of the really stupid ones that question why I have my flag up, I just blacklist them and hope to high heaven that they come here and flame me.

What she said.

Also, there are many people that will forget to update it. So say they've moved unto something else, but still have "Diorite" in their seacom. It will, and does work for some things, but most people already use it for those. Like, dynamis for example, or a mob pet someone is soloing on and the pos of it.

You realize I'm going to do this to you now, don't you? I mean, just for shits and giggles of course.

Sky isn't as crowded as it once was, there are maybe 2-4 shells there on a busy night and sometimes as little as one on off nights/afternoons. Getting or camping sky pop NM isn't much of a big secret and a little courtesy can go a long way. If you extend me a little, like tell me you're at Steam Cleaner or waiting on Zip before I go there, there is a fair chance I won't counter camp you and just move on. If you refuse to tell me and I take the effort to get to the camp, I am going to camp regardless. A good sky shell will always send someone to scout a zone to see if the camp is viable or if the NM is up anyways and a lack of seacom isn't going to hide the fact you're camping. At the very least, a comment will suggest there is a better alternative if nothing is up at the moment like farming waters or diorites.

Not that long ago, it used to be fairly common practice to share info. You need not give exact ToD, but at least tell people who got what recently and they'll share info with you in return. After all, if I tell you I just killed SC, it'll prevent you from spending 30 mins to an hour popping something that won't pop. If someone tells me they killed Mother Globe, I don't need to send a scout there and I can send one to Zip instead. I honestly don't see why people can't be bothered to do that anymore. As much as it might hurt you, there are decent benefits to it provided people don't lie. If you lie though... people are obviously going to lie back to you and counter camp you will no remorse. It does take a fair amount of trust, but at the same time, it's not hard at all to tell if you're lieing either.

I have 4 search comments:

iPunch: {salvage}

or

iNuke: {sky} and {einherjar} and limbus

or

iPull: {dynamis}

or

iFarm

in case someone wants to invite a thief...

Also I've gotten a lot of blind invites on my rdm, when I was clearly in a pt... last guy asked me 4 times until I blist him.

While I agree there was a time where shells did try their best to communicate and such, there are many times where (unfortunately) most all windows are closed and the shell doesn't want to farm Diorite/Water. If there's only one window up and they know/find out what it is, they'll often times camp it. Wednesdays from what I've seen can be particularly bad; there were five different shells in Sky at once. At one time four of them were at Despot at once.

I digress though...telling people that [x] mob is dead, just died (etc) is the nice thing to do, but with how some shells (or leaders) are nowadays, letting em know what you're doing might just end up with CCers all the same. It's the nice thing to do but it can cost you some CCing (or claim entirely), so really gotta know in advance how some shells would respond.
