Wow, this is pretty messed up, I'm surprised they havent come to explain whats up...
 
hm. Noone from the shell has responded, and im not so sure I should be the first since I wasnt even logged on the day this happened..

It is most discouraging yes, to have this happen.
But in the same vein, Ulli is also most discouraging. Hes the fucking bottle neck of sky. Most times we (as a shell) see ulli once a week, if that, mostly due to constant ls traffic in sky and his godawful pop timer.
When you are forced to call off kirin because you could make volkswagon with genbu seals, but lack a single Byakko seal, and spend 6-9 hours in a lag filled room akin to dynamis with 70+ people all gunning for ulli, you get what some have aptly named "ulli sickness".

try doing that every week 1-2 times a week, for a year.
then seeing an unclaimed ulli in your face.

its enough to tempt even the most angelic of us.

i myself have spent a good 60 seconds after losing claim on ulli after several such 6+ hour torture camps spamming voke or bind on a lost ulli, PRAYING for a claim loss.
I'm fairly sure that this is not somthing that im the Only one guilty of.
always however, i've allowed my morality to get in the way of my lesser impulses and warped my ass out of there not even waiting for a d2, JUST INCASE the fucker actually went yellow.

god knows theres been times i wanted to steal, that camp these days is akin to nidhogg for some ls's. depending on your schedules, and on how many other ls hunt times end up overlapping with you.

these though are all justifications. excuses for somthing that need a reason to be done because they should not be done in the first place. i'm well aware of this. and thou it saddens me that the LS that ive come to love and call my ffxi home has fallen into somthing that seemd to be an unspoken rule among all of us: "no drama", still.
i find it hard to sympathize. valkyr has had ulli stolen Numerous times, just not directly.

more than once we have camped that tit for 6+ hours straight, only to have some other sky shell show up 15minutes before pop and manage claim.

weve been in sky a while, and we Dont presume to call it ours. everyone has the same right to be up there. At the same time, Since weve been doing sky for so long, its severely frustrating to see our sky time/god ratio fall because of severe overcrowding at certian NM camps.

I can't say that i'm happy that this has happened. But I also can't pretend that things as they are, ulli isn't worth fighting over AS IF he were KB or Nid or Apido, thats just what things are atm.

not to pass blame to SE, but he really does need to go back to the shorter repop time he Used to have, SE changed him to Cockblock people from popping kirin to fast.

Take this post for what you will or won't. I was'nt there, and I didn't press those that were there as to what exactly happened. I'm just shedding some light on the current state of mind valkyr has for Ullikummi (i so hate that $#&)

We're not out here trying to demonize Valk or its members. I can understand where Synical is coming from. I'm sure he's been dealing with this shit in sky a lot longer than I have and it's frustrating as hell.

On the other hand, we were the only LS camping Ulli, it wasn't 70+ ppl, just us and an xp PT. One of them a member of our LS as well. No one else was even around when we claimed, and they may not have even seen us unless our BLM led them to where we were kiting.

They stole him when he was so near death, I thought we killed him, until I didn't see any drops come. Imagine how that feels.

Their behavior after I just don't understand. Why tell us we can have the stone? Why take our BLM back into their PT and continue to make it seem like they're just waiting for Amiboshi to reconnect? Some of us just want an explanation for this weird behavior.

I completely agree with Legaunt. Valkrys will not even give us an I'm sorry. They just keep on with their "high and mighty" attitudes towards people who haven't been in sky as long, I myself have only been in sky around a year or so, but even if I was brand new to sky, why would you want tojust be a fucking bitch? Anyways that ends my rant. The least the Valkrys could do since they already used the stone and got 1 byakko haidite, and 3 behemoth hides from it is to come on here and appologize or something. As I said earlier, Valkrys used to be a LS i held highly with respect, now, I couldn't care less if a dog shit on all of their faces.C~ya later Quetz

I mean, most of the people on this game who know me, will tell you I'm a fun loving guy just playing his game. But I'll be damned if I just set back and watch some "high and mighty" linkshell just destroy everything I have been working for here lately. Besides, sky isn't really about gil, its about gear, or it's supposed to be about gear, but there are too many greedy bastards who have all their sky gear and will do anything for that extra 2-3M a week. Back to what I was saying about gear, I know not everyone in Valkrys has all their gear for all of their 75 jobs <assuming all of them have more then one since they've been in sky so long and are sucha "high and mighty" linkshell>. But damn check a Valkrys member and you'll most likely see and Osode or such. All i ask of them is to show a little respect, they act like they are "leaders" of sky, but just for a little insight for them, a leader will not be givin respect unless he/she first gives it. It's also known as the golden rule <just worded different>. Have a little common courtoesy. Just because you have been in sky longer doesn't mean you have the right to steal a mob from another Linkshell. So basically all I'm trying to say is I want an I'm sorry so we can all just drop it and go the fuck on. Sorry for all of my ranting.

P.S. Sorry if it is hard to read because it lacks paragraphs, english never was my best subject.
 
Two of the four people you listed from Valkyrs I'm not surprised would do something like this. And I've always wondered why people thought so highly of them.

This wasn't something where all tanks were dead and it went unclaimed which is entirely different. This is just blatant stealing. And them not responding to this thread speaks for itself.

The worst part is they weren't even camping the damn thing. I'll admit I get pissed if an HNM pops and my ls doesnt get claim, but they weren't even doing that. Pathetic.

I would expect anyone and everyone in that area of the shrine to be camping Ulli, just 'cause of that fucked up spawn time. 13 god forsaken hours and it didn't pop...

sorry i dont buy that. in your eyes your ls may be completely spotless, but in anothers, you may not be. one perosn can taint your image. i guess we can just agree to disagree on this one.

btw, in my opinion, if you lose claim on a mob, its no longer "your" mob. so how can it be stealing? unclaimed is unclaimed. period.

Sure, we can all take the attitude that everything in this game is ours by right. "I have 3 lvl 75 jobs so I'm entitled to be a jackass." "I pay for this game so I'm entitled to do whatever I want." "I can claim this mob or steal this item that I want even though someone else did all the work." However, people like that rarely escape their reputations. There are some behaviors which simply cross the line.

Eternalist, it's my turn to not buy into your argument. If a mob becomes unclaimed due to a bug/exploit and is claimed by some other pt that was most likely spamming voke and dia macros, is that kosher in your opinion? So next time at your favorite NM if I should MPK you and take claim that'll be fine? After all, it's no longer "your" mob, it's mine. Unclaimed is unclaimed.
 
wow, I missed a lot. I haven't really done any runs with you guys yet cuz I'm always busy with school or work, but damn! Well, everyone has the intention to get what they want, everyone has a bit of greed in them. I remember being in a pt with Villarel in sky, when all of a sudden ulli pops. Kited him for almost an hour and we lotted the stone. I won the stone by 4 points lol. Villarel wanted to buy the stone for a million gil, when it was actually 5 at the time. Before ulli went down, he offered everyone 250k I think. Nothing can be helped though, what's done is done, but you know how the saying goes "what goes around, comes around."

That "bug" has long been known. so in my opinion your leader made a dumb mistake by getting agro and dying knowing that "bug'' exists. thats just the breaks. untill square fixes it, its not a really a "bug" but part of the game and you should learn from this incident and just forget about it. not likevalks going to give you the stone back.
 
No, they won't give the stone back, because they are all 100% jackasses. I have yet to see one come here to explain their side, althought we explained both sides pretty well, so maybe they think they don't need to since they are all a bunch of pussies. No offense Eternalist, but any linkshell that will condone stealing a NM, mob, anything is as worthless in this game as Colbwa ever was. I would have much rather them to MPK us with other golems then steal, that at atleast, would show they enough balls to work a little bit for the damn stone. I mean think about it, anyone could MPK at ulli easy, bring 1 or 2 golems in sooner or later its gonna use ice break and the tank will get bound, die, then hate is every where and the people fighting it will wipe in a matter of minutes, but Valkrys doesn't even have enough of a ballsack to do that shit. so to them I give a big "Fuck you too buddy."

To think they would be on the sidelines cheering us on. Like the fellow Englishman we are. Cause I would expect that from a JP, but not from fellow NA's. Last night again we were there camping for over 8 hours and a JP ls came there when it just popped within 10 minutes of getting there. They got it. and almost wiped to it.
they were 5 people and 3 dead. guess what? they allianced with another JP ls to help em out that killing it.
I would expect that from Valkrys, not this bs.

trust me ive been there and done that, had many mobs stolen from me in the past, including haven a Kirin stolen... so its not anything new for me.

you cant steal something thats someones elses. if it was unclaimed, its exactly that, unclaimed... sorry to say this, but if 3 other ls's were there, 3 one of those other ls's would probably be named in this thread.

while i know a few valks, i cant say im any of their friends really, so i cant say anything for them or about them. if they promised to help you, and then took claim, maybe thats shady. but seeing an unclaimed mob and not claiming if you have the chance aint shady by no means.

btw mpk is against the user agreement. and claiming a mob thats NOT claimed is not. so youre comparing apples to oranges.

Yeah, while we go and pick them apples and oranges off of the trees, they are taking them out of our baskets bud. They just didnt do any work, this is the same thign Vang got pissed at in his Kirin ToD thread, people getting shit and not doing all the work, we killed a few PH, he popped, we almost kill him the blm gets hate and dies, claim goes up @ like 1 or 2%. I'm sorry but damn if you take that shit you're lower then dog shit to me, as I said a LS that condones actions like that doesnt even deserve to be in sky, its a waste fo everyone's time if they are just going to do shit like that.
