VANG (55RNG/27NIN) omfg

Hmmm after Vang gets a chance to defend himself...I don't know who to believe any more. I wish there could be a short phrase to end this dispute:

ALthough I prefer to have people to have fully levelled subs, how is it disrespectful to anyone else WHO IS NOT PARTYING with you that they have an underlevelled sub? If you really are looking for a perfect set up, go ahead and wait while you're level 47-48 for a pickup party. I'm pretty sure everyone is getting so desperate for a party, they take whoever they can get.

Basically, I levelled my whm and blm together... I got them both to 18 before I had a subjob (didn't know how stupid that was to do until AFTER I got the power of the subjob). And then levelled them both to 30. The reason I did this wasn't because I wanted to please every party I joined. I did it because my static couldn't find compatible times to properly level so in the downtime i levelled the whm.

Right now, my ninja is about 14, and my ranger is 36. I am planning on levelling the ninja to 25 so I don't have to worry about it.... but it's a big pain in the ass. WHen I'm seeking as a ninja 14, who is willing to pay for the Shihei to blink tank, and I'm not getting invited for 1-2 hours at a time, and then I'm waiting even longer for the rest of the party to take hold, I want to gouge out my eyes and then that would cause some legit RL problems I can use eh?

I'm just saying unless you know the person, I don't see why you should criticize some random stranger. Wait, wait..I don't see why you have to boss around some random player....no wait....I don't see why you have to force and scold another player for not having a underlevelled sub.

The other thing I wanted to say was I had a static from 31-43. We levelled that in a week and a half. Out of the five of us, 2 of them had underlevelled subs. One of those two were the rangers, but they all still did a great job. I know having a perfectly levelled sub is ideal, but if you really don't like their jobs, just wait until they want to join your party and say like "Underlevelled Subjob, No thanks."

One last weird thing. I was farming one day outside of windy as a 43 blm/15 thf with no search comments. I got a request to party. I'd be worried with that party leader.. :wink:

It's none of your business if his sub isn't levelled or if he has bad gear. HE EXPLAINED IT TO YOU, STUPID! Heehee I remember leveling with Vang back in Quifim. If I recall correctly we had two ranger (me and him), 2 blm, a pld, and a ninja. Needless to say it was about the fastest exp I have ever had. I do remember that he was really intense though. He was good and had good EQ, but he was really intense. I can totally see what happened as a possibility but eh....people get upset and they get over it. Not gonna have to worry about that for a long time again im sure ^^

Well I am now a Ranger main, always planned to be but now I am, and I have to agree. Im not trying to get involved in the war or anything but yeah. I dont see many rangers dealing with an underleveled subjob after a certain amount of time. They all kinda get the act in gear and get down to it. But as Aldowin pointed out, he was in a static and if they were fine with it, then its all good. I did one time not have a completely leveled sub. I didnt like it but I really wanted to get like 2 levels on Thief and then be done with it so I said oh well and got them.

Lol I will say this though Vang. I respect you and the way you play. You were very good back then and Im sure it carried on. You are just a tad too intense. I remember thinking "Damn Im sure glad I got this down or else this guy would probably be busting my balls right about now." Lol no joke. Another funny thing is that as you were running out to pt with us, I was thinking "Man I really really hope this guy has at least decent gear cause Im so sick of these gimp rangers." So I was pleasantly surprised. Course wouldnt keep me from partying with you again ^^. Not everyone is gonna be a pro, some people just kinda know what to do and when to do it and can do much better. Im sure you can easily outperform me now. Im like 99% sure I'm not gonna get the E-Bow because Ill use guns and then Orthinius at 67 so Ill just have a bow to level the skill but I dont consider myself any less or anything. Well, discarding the venom from your post, how much is "sufficient"?

IMHO, I think that anything that's attainable without four hundred hours of farming (IE, all +1 equipment is a bit much to ask, although it IS nice.) is "Sufficient." Having an underlevelled sub is like wearing leather armor in Valkurm - there's really no reason not to upgrade. As I said, though, as long as the person with an underlevelled sub isn't in MY party, I'm not going to bring it up in game.

And the puppy pic was supposed to show how Drecan was trying to be all tough and intimidating and truly failed at it. ^_^

I have to disagree. Sure you do need some game smarts, maybe a little bit of experience and doing your homework is good too but what seperates a good [insert job here] from an excellent [insert same job here] is if you can afford the best of everything.

Of course you can have all the best stuff and if you play dumb, have no experience and know little about your job and how parties and general FFXI mechanics work you will still stick out like a sore thumb.

You are the type of player that will never be looked at as a great player who knows how to do their job, that gear comment is the dumbest shit I have ever read in regards to this game. Is that what you tell yourself when you see the whm with 2 astrals? The thief with winged boots and a pin? Gear doesnt matter? Thats right, thats why I see so many high levels with rusty caps on instead of an optical hat, because, getting an optical hat is fairly tedious, and surely after 70 levels they know how to do their jobs? What the hell would an optical hat do for them, I mean, gear doesnt make the player right?

Go talk to him about where that kind of attitude will get you, i hear these days hes actually behaving like a nice guy, making up for the rep he gave himself. Maybe one of these days you too will learn Vang, maybe Deci can mentor you about attitude. You Are Not "teh Uber 1337 r0x0rz omfgz0rz" etc. trust me.
