Support vB 4.0 upgrade/errors

I have a general question about the update:

Before updating the site to this version, did you guys ever consider doing a dummy update to see how things would look and work before updating to determine feasibility or just did a straight update? I was just curious about it, that's all.

We tested beforehand. I wouldn't say there are too many issues at this point to be honest. Some major ones but all we can do really is wait for vB to fix them.

Meh. I do not like the new program. I'm sure someone will tell me all the technical advantages it offers, but the change strikes me as utterly unnecessary.

On a more specific note, the "Go To First New Post" button doesn't work for squat. Half the time it just sends me to some random spot in the thread.

ANyone else having this issue? What browser are you using?

Mine works on the front page if I click on a thread. However on the widget that pops out from the right it doesn't and if I click into a forum it won't. I tried effing with the code but screwed it up worst in some instances. I thought this was going to be fixed in 4.0.2? I'm on google chrome btw.

I use Firefox 3.6 for the most part. And it's sporadic: Sometimes it works, but most of the time it dumps me... somewhere in the thread, usually towards the end.

I believe it will be fixed in 4.0.2 but I'll check on Rae's issue to be sure.

4.0.2 came out this afternoon... I was gonna upgrade tonight but I'd rather let others go first and see what problems they run into so maybe tomorrow or Thursday.

  • ...and about 200 more bugs

So about 1/4th of the bugs were dealt with...

I don't usually say this but that's gay. They should have a lot more fixed then that.

You'll love this then... apparently, even after taking an extra 2 weeks to get things right, still managed to release yet new bugs that are screwing up peoples sites. Thankfully most seem to be with the cms which isn't installed here but the # of template and CSS changes is staggering. I may want another day to upgrade... I want to do a full backup first and take a more cautious role in this.
