Version Update Info

I pray to Altana that they increased the WS ACC and dmg, cause if I miss anoter 3 WS in a row after using meikyo shushi, I am going to kill myself

Riiiight, because SAM isn't already getting a damage increase from the overall 2-handed update. I honestly suspect they're getting a light nerf, just so that SAMs don't end up like MNK/WARs (too strong for their own good and thus mostly unwanted). Though if that nerf was in the direction of removing Hagun superiority, say, lowering the STR mod but increasing the 100% fTP mod, no complaints from me.

And really, if you miss 3 WS in a row with sushi up, that's just getting the unlucky .0125% chance.

I'm a lil scared Right now ; ;

yes i do want to be rid of the hagun it is a poor excuse of an end game weapon but sams are very dependant on TP and WS like rdm is to refresh or ninja is to shadow clone jutsu, thats why I would a modifier adjustment to make the WS more stronger

and yes I am extremly unlucky x2

The reason I'm not worried is because, again, it's an entire 2-handed damage increase. The very worst that can happen (assuming Sundi didn't hit the big red anti-fun button) is that Yuki/Kasha/Gekko damage will be roughly the same as it was before.

Unless you're worried about a Hagun nerf, can't help you there.

Well I was just looking for an increase because sams should not be so dependant on the hagun for loads of WSing balls of fun

edit: or maybe a grip with TP bonus to WS

How long is Maint?

I must be blind. I do not see how long maintenance is scheduled for.

fyi. FFxiclopedia has already upgraded the website for the new implementations

How are people getting the item info already? I know I can't even get on Playonline yet...

Sounds like your WS Macro needs more Acc.

Uh oh, I don't really like the looks of this. I really didn't think they'd touch these; now I don't have much hope that it was an upgrade rather than a nerf. This may've ruined the update for me. -_-

They said they wanted to increase damage of 2handers. From how i see it they want to cut down on mnk/nin/war cannon onry pts. So i can only see good things from changes to these weaponskills. Its not like they are overpowered right now, by any means, so i dont see any reason for them to nerf em. Then again it is SE so who knows.

But they did give a clue...

Raging Rush has a crit mod like people have been asking for, and actually stands a chance against Rampage.

Penta Thrust has an acc mod. Not the crit people jokingly asked for, but anything's better than damage that doesn't actually vary with TP.

Skewer, chance of crit... Isn't that like the 175 polearm WS nobody uses?

The Gekko / Yuki / Kasha adjustment has me curious, though, there was nothing wrong with them in the first place. Maybe they're nerfing Hagun? (I can't complain if they are, it's a little silly just how superior that GKT is)

Howling / Dragon are never used by MNK post-Asuran, so maybe Dragon's getting some kind of boost. Emp Arrow / Detonator are even worse, outdated the moment you unlock them, prettymuch require a good boost to be worth unlocking, much less using instead of sidewinder.

I haven't a clue what they might be planning with Cross Reaper, though, it's just kinda sitting there for no reason. Maybe a boost to low-end TP to compete with Guillotine? More likely a random nerf for no explicable reason,

I'm mainly curious about Yuki, Gekko, and Kasha. Those weaponskills were fine in my opinion, so it does concern me that SE would mess with them yet not feel the need to tell us anything.

I can think of a few good possibilities. Higher fTP mod per TP amount. (2.0, 2.5, and 3.0) as opposed to the current (1.5, 2.0, and 2.5). Or, SE could change these weaponskills from "damage varies with TP" to something more creative and put a permanent 2.0fTP mod on the WS's at any TP. Similar to how Tachi: Kaiten works.

I agree, it would kill Hagun unless it's a worthwhile condition. Say for example all 3 WS's give higher TP return based on your TP. You could then use Hagun @ 100TP and get enough TP return to ditch your 6-hit setup. Whether or not that would be worthwhile I don't know, but it's only speculation. Regardless, if they do this my Onimaru will get much more use.

It could also be a nerf of some sort as you mentioned, but I would surely hope not.

I guess SAM's have a lot of testing to do.

The same person who hacked into the private GM testing server posted this info on BG.

That should give you an idea...

I don't see that changing much. MNK is a hot pick because of their ungodly DoT; WAR and NIN are picked because they have voke and shadows in one package. This update hasn't changed these criteria much... and if GA is now as hot as dual 1h axes, which it may or may not be, WAR is still standing on the nerf block.

Players will now be able to access their Mog Lockers at nomad moogles after selecting the option to increase Mog Locker availability.

THANK YOU!

- Two-handed weapons will now receive larger benefits from a character’s attributes, and will also inflict more damage when facing higher-level opponents or enemies with high defense.

- A new type of equipment known as “grips” can now be equipped in the sub-weapon slot while using a two-handed weapon.
*Grips cannot be used without a two-handed weapon equipped in the main weapon slot.
**TP will be reset when changing or removing grips, in the same manner as for main weapon equipment changes.

The following weapon skills have been adjusted:
Howling Fist/Dragon Kick/Raging Rush/Cross Reaper/Penta Thrust/Skewer/ Yukikaze/Gekko/Kasha/Empyreal Arrow/Detonator

Several weapon skills have had the effects of TP adjusted in the following manner:

- Raging Rush
Damage varies with TP >> Chance of critical hit varies with TP

- Penta Thrust
Damage varies with TP >> Accuracy varies with TP

- Skewer
Accuracy varies with TP >> Chance of critical hit varies with TP

Looking at the 1st sentence, it looks like their actually buffing up yuki, gekko, and kahsa lol

The following adjustments have been made to the beastmaster job:

- Pets summoned with the “Call Beast” ability will now remain for a longer period of time.
*Duration varies for each type of pet.

- Pets not in combat will now gradually regain HP.
It is possible for a beastmaster to increase the rate at which a pet regains HP by using the “Stay” command.

- Beastmasters will no longer be subject to an experience point penalty while using a charmed monster.

Done deal, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm lvling bst as soon as I get back online!

The following adjustments have been made to the corsair job:

- The effect of “Phantom Roll” has been greatly increased.

- The length of time a character remains immobile while using the “Phantom Roll” ability has been reduced.

- The job ability “Fold” will now always remove the “Bust” penalty first.

Nice!!

The icon for beastmen's seals has been changed.

lmao, o snap!

Mithra and Galka will now close their eyes while in the healing position.

wth xD?

If you're meriting with a rdm (I say this because of refresh, but stun doesn't take much mp so a smart drk with a parade gorget or even just smartly using Aspir would work too), a drk/nin gets "voke" in the form of Stun, with only a slightly longer reuse timer than voke (again assuming Haste is on). Of course if this new update doesn't really update 2h dmg as much as it sounds like it might people will still pick wars over drks.
