Intelligent Cube - the original PS1 game beat that bio'tch

Gameplay length through difficulty is stupid. a 5 hour game with 30 hours worth of dying is still just a 5 hour game. While games have become a joke in difficulty lately, thats not the correct way to fix the problem of them being short.

Intelligent Cube - the original PS1 game beat that bio'tch

The games I had the most fun with have been things like Diablo, Mario 64, Castlevania SotN, Act Raiser, Super Metroid, Punch Out, FF IV/VI/VII/X, Blaster Master, Rygar, and Zelda.

I like it when you have a plethora of ways to complete your objectives. If there is no "right way" to beat a game, it's my kind of game.

and I forgot to respond to the post I quoted

Yeah, Intelligent Cube was awesome, but I wanted more levels.

i still play all my throwback games, i have all the resident evil's displayed on a shelf cause im a freak like that but i still pick em up and play em from time to time

um...if you want to play some nes or snes games or even sega you can download an emulator, ive gotten hours of nostalgia/entertainment from those, plus its just awesome to play snes games on your computer when you actually have a controller you can plug into it =D

that will keep you busy for a good long time, from taht you can branch to acoustic then bass if you like it

guitar alone will keep you busy tho

good deal, that should do ya until some better games come out

Xmen Arcade!

Was reading this thread before leaving work before our annual X-mas party. We had some time to kill before meeting at the restaurant we go to so a bunch of us went to a sports bar to play pool.

Just as we're getting our quarters I spot X-men arcade! I spent the next 30 or so minutes playing that. I used to live on that and Street Fighter II back in the day.

Resident evil, outbreak was fun ^^ . It was online and my first multi player game. I liked playing Alyssa because she could pick locks and could get the shot gun. Of course running the same few scenarios got boring and we would challenge ourselves by doing no weapon runs, and no damage runs as well lol

I remember when sequals were completely different from the last game.

You mean like Mario Bros. 2 vs. Mario Bros. 1?

(NOTE: I am not talking about the US Mario Bros. 2 which originally was not even a Mario game)

Anyone remembered "Smash TV!"?

That game was simple yet stupidly hard/violent (in those days).

"BIG MONEY! BIG PRIZES! I LOVE IT!!!"

I'd buy that for a dollar.

Pokemon is where it was at. It was original and never done before and nobody can copy it or innovate it in any way.

Why does everyone say battletoads was hard <,< Maybe Im thinking of the wrong game, but I remember it not being very hard, did it on two players though, maybe thats why it was easy.

Resident Evil 4 on pro mode is a ton of fun, not amazingly difficult, but its fun, have to take it really slow to win.

I've gone from buying a new game every month to buying a new game once a year. My short list of wanted games now mostly consists of old NES/SNES ports to the GBA, like Donkey Kong, along with the most recent Phoenix Wright game. I love the Phoenix Wright series as a whole, but one of the best things about the games is the ability to stop at any time and save. There's no running around in a mapless dungeon for thirty minutes until I get lucky and stumble upon a lone save point. I don't have to blow another twenty dollars on a strategy guide simply because the game designers couldn't be bothered to make real puzzles and instead relied on a series of ridiculous circumstances that are never even hinted at during the game itself (hi there FFX-2 and FFXII!).

I could go on and on and write a whole damned essay about how games are going down the shithole, but I'll save myself the time and simply post a link to an old PWOT article that says it all better than I ever could.

A Gamer's Manifesto.

But I would like to add that I would happily fork over $65 for a difficult RPG. Difficult does not mean you give me the same old game plus one secret boss who is nearly impossible to beat until I unlock one simple weapon/armor/class that lets me return and one-shot said boss. Ugh.
