I was just wondering where you get the program to make videos and record stuff. Is it something you buy? or do you have to download it somewhere? Any info on this would be very much appreciated

Most people use Fraps. There is a free download from it, just try googling it since I don't have the link offhand. There are limitations to the freeware version, only 30second recording. If you pay for the full version, which isn't too much, you get unlimited recording time.
Awesome thanks a bunch
can you edit with fraps too? Or is that something entirely different? ^^;

Editting can be done with many different programs. Fraps just records it. I personally use Adobe Premiere to do my editting, but it can be pricey. www.download.com should have free trial versions of many different editting programs.
Alright thanks for all the help
