Viewing zones outside of FFXI.

I've seen it before, so I figured I'd post here to find out.

I've seen people with screenshots of zones from FFXI in an ouside program. What program can I use to do that? Is it the .dat viewer or something? Also, where can I get it?

I'd like to know because I have a special project I'm thinking of starting, and it'd help if I could view the maps from an outside source.

The specific one you are looking for is this. However, if you can't read JP, it is a bit tricky. 8) They have 2 versions available on that site (click 2nd link on the left).

Thanks for the link. I have it downloaded, but how the heck do I use it? I put it in the FFXI root folder and it comes up with an error message in Japanese.

And yes... I've tried that program before.hile it does work to an extent,
I don't really see it working quite the way I want it to. I don't know
how to enable the natural weather effects, or add NPCs and sprites and
stuff like that. If I could figure that out, I'd resume my original project
of creating a QCDN Fan-Fic...

But... Oh well...

Maybe in the near future.

The archbell windower has a built in screenshot feature. You can find it at ffxi.archbell.com

If you're worried about getting banned for using it just delete the contents of the plug-ins folder, that will take away the features that SE can detect you using (ie seeing other people's TP)

He means free looking directly at the .DAT of the zones outside the game Stouter. Kind of like model viewer, except for zones.
