Movie Villans for the Dark Knight Rises released

I've seen several pictures of this actor as Bane.. and I dunno. He just doesn't look like how I would imagine Bane to be. Bane should be physically quite a bit larger than Batman yet in all of the set pictures I've seen of him having a brawl with Batman in one of the upcoming movie scenes he appears to be a slight bit smaller than Christian Bale.

I have no doubt that they will somehow pull it off well for the movie, but even so, appearance-wise it is a little disappointing.

It'd be a cool lead-up fight though.

"Oh...Batman kicked my skinny ass...." *injection* "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR"
 
They could also use a little bit of CGI to make him bigger. But I doubt we'll be seeing anything too huge since Nolan likes to keep his Batman as realistic as possible.
 
One thing to remember though is that, in the comics at least, Bane is a 6'8" pain-train naturally. The Venom just enhances his strength to superhuman levels. I'd think it'd be easy to bump him up to there with CGI and clever camera work, so hopefully the travel-sized version in all the shots released so far are just to whet appetites/wow crowds when they see the real thing.

That being said, I do have to say I'm disappointed in the lack of the luchador mask. He just doesn't seem as Baney without it.
 
While I prefer the mask since it's part of his original design, I can see your point. Except those who grew up watching Batman: The Animated Series, most people who haven't read the comics will probably only know Bane from there. And the less that reminds people of that thing the better.
 
I can't unsee the goatse in Bane's mask. Therefore, all scary factor gone for me. Thanks internet. :(
