Violating the Rule for asking questions?

I am very confused with this forum. I was posting a topic to ask for help and my topic got locked? I didn't say bad words or so on. I don't understand, please explain, thank you.
 
Can not share personal information over the board, hence it must be handled in PM's. If anyone knows your friend, then they can contact him with the information or direct them here to meet with you. Otherwise, personal information can't be spoken of over the forum boards here due to some bullshit legal openings it may have. Aiight?

Unless the original question was edited, what exactly was the problem?
He posted his email and wanted to see if someone could get ahold of a person ingame.
I can't see why this would be locked, to be honest. Even if it could be considered a case of "posting personal information", the email address wasn't even deleted...
 
Because if the other persons information is posted and not PM'd, that becomes the problem. Lock the thread, and it will more likely be PM'd then the other guy creating a new post.
 
They're the exact same post. Does anyone else find that odd?
 
I think this falls outside of the personal information rule. The e-mail he posted could just as easily be visible through his user profile.

As for another user posting personal info as a reply, we would act on that directly. Arc, please review and discuss - if you concur then I'll let you unlock it so as not to undermine your measly authority.
 
I only locked it to prevent anyone from being gung-ho and taking it upon themselves to post someone else's information (thus the PM request). Not for the content of the post itself. A measured preventitive.

I was unsure though, because I left the posts in the mod queue hoping another Mod would have a better idea... but it seemed none did - so I just sent that one through, locked, and deleted 2 other threads of the same post.

My measly authority is measly v.v; but I try lol!
 
You've been an immense help and I want to publicly acknowledge the time and effort you've put in under such a short term as mod. I'll go through the reported posts for other discussion as I haven't been back there since I returned.
