Yeah, everyone is waiting for SE to release the awesome RPG's of yesteryear, but I don't remember any news about them ever coming out. It might be that they're going to remake them like they're doing with the final fantasy's, but it's hard to say.

I want Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma.
And for Nintendo to bring Earthbound to the VC as well.
As for those popular SE games I'm sure SE will end up porting/remaking them for console/handhelds in the future, so they're probably not going to do much with them on the VC.

I saw they're going to be adding TurbografxCD games to the VC roster in Japan, which could lead to some interesting possibilities down the road. I certainly wouldn't balk at the Sega-CD game Dark Wizard showing up some day; it was my first tactical RPG.

"Amon: "Velonese~! Compared to me~! He is nothing!" ~Dark Wizard"

I loved that game too. :-)
I still have it for the Sega CD system.

But yea, if TurbographixCD system is added to the virtual console, I wouldn't mind seeing YS Books 1 and 2. That version had voice overs, and the music was phenomenal. :-)

The only great RPG game I played was Chrono Trigger. I own FF3 for DS but I can't get into it. I think its because they use the top screen of the DS.

Here we go...

Kirby's Avalanche - Super NES - 800 Points
Streets of Rage 3 - Sega Genesis - 800 Points
Legend of Hero Tonma - TurboGrafx16 - 600 Points

Do you know if those are any good? I didn't know there was a streets of rage 3.

Streets of Rage was a Trilogy.

Also...

If you want to know the basic story about Kirby's Avalanche... Well...

The puzzle game genre Puyo Pop which was made by Sonic Team was, and still is popular in Japan.

But people were unsure how to market the game to America. So what did they do? Simple.

Rip off the game's Engine, and create basically the same game with familiar characters better known by Americans.

Puyo Pop came to America in the form of two games. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine for Sega Genesis (Based off the American Sonic TV Show, and not so much the games), and Kirby's Avalanche for Super NES.

So both games are Puyo Pop clones.

There's been other examples of this too:

Panel De Pon, when it came to America became Tetris Attack, starring Yoshi, for Super NES. And later on, Pokemon Puzzle League for the Nintendo 64.

But now, ever since the year 2000 rolled around, Japanese culture has really sunk its teeth into American life. Look how many Japanese aspects were integrated into our movies and such. Even the creators of the anime Ghost in the Shell (1996) openly acknowledge that The Matrix borrowed a lot of concepts from it. Also, remember how in the 90's people would only dub an anime series for the first 30 or 40 episodes or so and not bother to finish the series? (Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, etc.) Notice how the series didn't get finished until the 21st century rolled around?

But yeah. The ultimate point I'm getting at here is that it's come to the point where Japanese culture is so cemented in American culture that they don't need to sell their games to be ripped off and turn into clones. So Sega / Sonic Team just decided to release "Puyo Pop" for Gameboy Advance. And "Chu Chu Rocket", and Capcom released "Onimusha" and "Okami".

Nintendo already has a game that was originally Japanese-Only on the Virtual Console already that was translated into English.

I can honestly say that after receiving two Fire Emblem games in America, instead of planning to translate and patch the Fire Emblem game ROMs for SNES myself and release them, I'm really expecting Nintendo to release them on the Virtual Console someday.

"Kirby's Avalanche" is just a look back at an old standard of how the video game industry was in the 90's.

(Sorry to get so long-winded. LOL)

Wait what, which one

If they ever remake Secret of Mana, that shit better be on the DS, and better use NWC. IMO, the biggest downfall of the Wii is the lack of multiplayer support online for Virtual Console titles.
