Virtual Console: Wii-kly Update

Sweet! Ninja Gaiden for the NES! Jaquio, your time is up... AGAIN!! lol :-D
My fave Ninja Gaiden though was the 2nd one, with Ashtar.
Hopefully they will release that one too.

The third was interesting too, but a tad weird. Very robotical like.

Feast thine eyes upon this rich sequel bounty:

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest - SNES - 800 Points
Streets of Rage 2 - Sega Genesis - 800 Points
Blazing Lazers - TurboGrafx16 - 600 Points

DKC2 was also a fun game. Maybe I'll get it.
Steets of Rage 2. :-D I'm definitely getting that too. You can now play as the black guy's kid who is a skater boy. I don't remember his name off hand.

You just said his name.

His name was "Skate". Eddie "Skate" Hunter, who was Adam Hunter's (the black guy) younger brother.

Streets of Rage 2 is about Axel (the blonde dude) and Blaze (the chick) teaming up with Skate to go rescue Adam, who's sitting out in this game because he's been captured by the bad guys.

Wow, DKC2 and Streets of Rage 2 at the same time, hot.

I always found the Streets of Rage series hard. The first one I could only get to the end, but by then I used up all my continues and specials.

Looks like Tecmo isn't wasting any time getting Ninja Gaiden out there. The rating for Ninja Gaiden 2: Dark Sword of Chaos just popped up on the ESRB page, which means we'll likely see it available for download on Virtual Console in the next few weeks.

The rating for Sega's Shining in the Darkness -- not familiar with that one -- is also new to the page.

Is this ESRB page on the actual Nintendo site? I missed something, I'm gonna go look.

Edit: Sorry about the screw up there.

zomg paper mario

Forgot about checking the press site because of the holiday, but here's what's available this week:

ActRaiser - SNES - 800 Points
J.J. & Jeff - TurboGrafx-16 - 600 Points
Kid Chameleon - Genesis - 800 Points

This is going to be noob, but I looked all of the Nintendo site. Where do you look for the games?

Shh.. if he reveals the secret he has to kill you.

I'm already dead! ;D

You're dead to me, Alyada! You hear that! Dead! Say goodbye to everyone you ever loved because I'm coming for you, punk!

*cough*

Nintendo has a complete list of VC games on their site, but I get my info through their PR page for media professionals.

Wooooooooooooo! Actraiser was a fun game.

You got to be GOD.

WUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

... But what I thought was dumb was how Actraiser ended...

You banish all the demons of the world and strike down false religion... but... Humans decide that they don't need you (god) anymore and decide to stop praying to you?

Cool. Atheism.

WOW WAY TO RUIN IT FOR ME, GOD DAMN.

*Cries and poops his pants*

I thought everyone here already played / beat Square-Enix's classics?

Well, if you like ActRaiser. Give "Soul Blazer" and "ActRaiser II" a spin.

Looks like a good week, with the Wii's Virtual Console now offering 100 games for download. There are four titles this time, and two of them are old favorites of mine.

Milon's Secret Castle - NES - 500 Points
ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron - Sega Genesis - 800 Points
Dead Moon - TurboGrafx16 - 600 Points
Zelda II - The Adventure of Link - NES - 500 Points

Zelda II is the black sheep of the series (not counting the Phillips CD-i abominations), but I've always liked it. Milon's Secret Castle is one I used to play all the time, and I'll probably have to get it.

Give us Super Metroid so I don't have to dig out my SNES, damn it.

My brother and I used to argue about which one was better when we were little. I always loved the first one, but he thought the second one was better. I always hated Zelda 2. I could never get into it.
