Hey all,

I'm house-sitting for my parents for two weeks. The tv at my house blows, but the tv at my parent's house is made of awesome. I've decided I shall use this house-sitting as a chance to finally see what PS3 games are supposed to look like.

What do you think is the most visually superior ps3 game on the market right now?

I am also going to buy a BluRay movie, though I haven't decided which one yet.

Thanks for the suggestions.

play motorstorm on High-Def. While not the biggest jump, its still the best looking PS3 game in my opinion.

Some of the best looking games look really nice in standard def. Some others look pretty bad in standard def. For example Rainbow 6: Vegas is a big leap. Enchanted Arms is a big leap. Motorstorm looks great even in standard def but really nice in high def.

The fighting games like Virtua Fighter, Tekken and Fight night round 3 all look incredible in high def though they look good in standard def too.

For movies: Check out Casino Royale or Tears of the Sun.

Motorstorm for game. Casino Royale for blueray^^

MotorStorm seems to be the winner. I'll have to pick it up this week.

Thanks guys.

If you're willing to go with a renter, I'd say go rent the Darkness for ps3, pretty visually spectacular game, and if you like old movies you can watch the entirety of To Kill a Mocking Bird in the main character's gf's apartment.

Motorstorm is best visual game on PS3 in motion.

Thanks for the input guys.

One last question...

Do I need to buy any fancy cables for my dad's tv, or do the regular input cables that came with the PS3 work fine? I've read online that it doesn't make a difference, but I've also read that the difference will blow my mind.

Yeah, you can buy them online for like $6.00. They're way overpriced at BestBuy (I got mine at BestBuy because they gave me a $250 giftcard when I bought my TV). I'd look up some for you but I'm in class right now.

Yeah, I'll probably have to shop around online.

I have a friend who works at Best Buy, so I'm gonna find out what his discount would be. I'll also probably check out Fry's Electronics on my way home today. I got a 21in monitor there for a hundred bucks once. I love that store.

He might be able to get it for "at cost."

Yeah, I'm leaning more towards Fry's. If I can get one there for 20-25 bucks, that will be fine.

I found a few cheap ones online, but I'm only going to use the cord for the two weeks I'm staying at my parent's house, so I don't want to waste four or five days for shipping.

I know at Blockbuster they have an HDMI cable for 10$, but i doubt its quality.

Hmmm. I'm only gonna need it for 2 weeks. $10 sounds perfect.

Although at that price, I risk the cable being so bad there is no difference at all.

yeah. Honestly, the best bet is to buy one of the better ones (30-50$) and just keeping it around until you get your own HDMI TV sometime down the road.

That's not a bad idea. I'm sure I'll get a less blowful tv sometime next year.
