If you have 2 baggies with weed in your pocket next to your wallet, they take all the cash and confiscate it as drug money. Since the weed was in 2 baggies, they get you for intent to resale. That is a felony. Felons can't vote.

The regular smoker buys pot in increments of 1/4 of an ounce. 1/4 usually for a social smoker, a 1/2 for a people like me that smoke all the time, and an ounce for people that live in a household with multiple smokers may buy 1-4 ounces at a time, as it is much cheaper ($100 for an ounce, $250 for 4 ounces, on average)

In Tennessee, more than an ounce is a felony. Laws vary greatly by state.

In Nevada, if you are under 21, you can get 1-4 years for possesion of marijuana in any amount under 1 ounce, and it is a felony. If you are over 21, it's a $600 fine with no jail time and required drug treatment program for the same amount. It's only a misdemeanor if you are over 21, and punishable in the same way as a minor traffic violation.

I know when I lived in Little Rock, a good buddy of mine got arrested for paraphernalia when he got pulled over and had visine in his center console. But then again, there are states like California, where as long as you have a prescription you can smoke.

Now I could go on and argue the whole "Weed is bad" philosophy. Do I really want to start a war? No not really. But let me ask this.

When I say pothead, I mean someone who smokes on a daily basis, not the 14 year old who, to be cool, smoke an ounce on his first time smoking, then decides to drive his dad's car when he's not legal to drive anyway. I'm talking about regular multidaily smokers. In my experiences, and trust me, I've known a whole lot of stoners, people who get high generally get lazy and don't want to drive. And any stoner who smokes on a regular basis knows their limitations and would not put themself in a position like that. At least in my experiences.
