Waking the Beast? Don't know how.

I've seen the items that can be obtained from this quest and they look nice, but I just have no idea how to do this..
First of all, are there any prerequisites for this quest (i.e. CoP, ZM, etc.)
Do I actually need the summoner job and have obtained all the summons?
And anything else on this quest would be much appreciated thank you! ^^

You need to have summoner unlocked and have the 6 main avatars: Titan, Ifrit, Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva, Garuda.

Then you can go flag it.

After that you have to go fight each of the 6 in a 18 man battle. Each one has 3 or 4 elemental with them.

Next you fight them in a special fight. Carby will pop first. At 75% Carby will depop and summon 1 avatar. Once avatar is dead Carby will repop. At 50% same thing with 2 avatars. And 3 avatars at 25%. This last time carby will pop with 4 copies of herself...so you have 5 mobs that can Searing Light your ass ;/ All the avatars can 2hr ^.^

ok sounds good, now can I unlock SM and of crouse I get carby at 1.
If I beat the main 6 other avatar prime battles I can get all the summons even at 1? then I'm all set right?
oh and by the way, thanks for all of this information~!
