Walmart is gonna get sued by Microsoft.

They all released their Xbox 360s at 2 PM CST today when they weren't liscened to do so until midnight CST.. and they did it anyway.

Really made me mad, ruined my Christmas, and probably alot of other's as well, considering all of the other non-reservation stores are being camped out, and the next shipment is in MARCH.

I can't wait to see Microsoft globally sue them for millions.

Microsoft isn't stupid. Wal-Mart could easily pull MS's contract then MS will really be fucked up for the holidays. Even though Wal-mart is not MS's main vendor, I believe a lawsuit would really hurt MS since Wal-mart makes pennies from selling video game systems.

Btw Tymon you can always get yours at Wolfchase they don't run out of shyt is seems lol.

Walmart is just going to blame it on some sort of time zone mixup and be done with it. In the end there was no harm done to Microsoft as the W sold all units anyway.

Someone should sue NASA JPL for screwing up the conversion between meters and feet and crashing the first Marslander at a price tag of over one billion of taxpayer's money.

Having worked in the retail world of hard street dates for several years now, once a single store/chain breaks the street date, then all other stores are allowed to break that date as well. However, this is now a moot point since it's 11:30pm and since probably 90% of the units shipped were reserved anyway. I doubt Microsoft would take any kind of legal action against Wal Mart since it's the biggest retail outlet for their products, but then again it is Microsoft and they are the one company with the money and the attitude to take on Wal Mart.

You guys live in Memphis? I'm sorry to hear that, haha. I used to live there, that place is a dump. Though I am going back to TN for christmas to hang with my brother (in Clarksville).

Battle of the titans. Really though, it would just be lost money on both sides if there was a lawsuit. It was also only a few hours.

Just wanted to say the bold is incorrect. With the purchase of EB by Gamestop, the largest retailer of video games and systems fell into their hands. The next few years will be interesting, considering it will be the first time video game developers will be more concerned with a company that specifically deals with their products as apposed to a store that sells toasters etc.

This was an event that occured durring the time I worked at Gamestop, so it was all I heard about for a while.

yeah I just got done working our midnight release of 360 at EB games.. oiy I wanna burn down the xbox factory, although now we believe the 360 can cure cancer XD personally I don't see the point in buying one unless you have a high def TV...

anyways, while driving home at 2am I drove past a Best Buy and Circut City.. LoLz the line was crazy. It's almost raining atm and people have tents and little camps set up lol.

( ..) ; people are crazy

oooh yeah and 3 stores in our district were all robbed today for 360's :(

It happens, and the guys who stole them are gonna make some serious bank if they dont get cought. Of course, by tomorrow the SNs of the systems will be in the hands of the police and all employees of the stores know it is impossible to buy back a system with the SN missing or damaged, so there will be some sad people if they end up with one of those systems and try to return it for the cash.

I'l laugh my ass off if the theives themselves try to sell back the systems. They will get busted so fast.

"camping the stores" ...lol, you make it sound like the x360 is a NM

Microsoft can kiss my ass. period.

Shortages are common tactics used to manufacture hype.

When the PS2 released, the exact same thing happened, all the talk of no more shipments coming for 3 months ...... bullshit.

The very next week, like 8 days later, I was practically tripping on them at the local Wal-Mart.

The Wal-Marts in our area had people lined up 24 hrs before the 360 release.
Funny thing is, each store is only getting like 20 units, 4 of which are platinum boxes. So as I went through about my business, I asked a few in line why they would wait there when they were not going to get a system. The reply was:

"In case someone else doesnt want theirs"

I'm still laughing. WTF?!?!?!?! waiting in a 24 hr line, with other people in a 24 hour line, fully aware all of them why they are there, yet some are standing in line in case of the impossible situation of someone deciding at the 23rd hour that they dont want theirs? A better chance of Jesus returning and giving me the power of flight I think.

Dumbasses

I also curse my brother in - law. Lucky shit, he won a free plat system on the Mt.Dew thing that went for a while. Hes been playing solid for like 2 days >.<

That's one of the great things about being in the military. When Halo 2 came out I heard of all the people camped out for their copy and the big tickers and lottery type raffles...Then I walked into the PX/BX on post and saw like 50 of the limited edition Halo 2s and about the same amount of the regular game packs. I figure that it will probably be the same for the X360.

It's really alot different now. Cordova and Bartlett and the suburbs are really nice looking now, it's a nice community.

Up and downtown does need alot of work though, it is improving though.

EDIT: Veli did you even go to Wolfchase last night? People camped out the radio shack and that other game place, they were sleeping on the benches.

These places only sell like 10-a-store, and theres a good 100 people that were there camping them out.

There's always eBay I guess(yay $1,200)

I personally think Memphis is the best city in TN.

What I mean Bigboy was not necessarily sold units but moreso the sheer number of stores that Wal Mart has. For example, here in Oklahoma the only two places that have a Gamestop, EB, Software Etc, or any other specialized video game store are Tulsa and Oklahoma City. However, there are something like 150 Wal Marts if not more in the state so people don't have to drive 3+ hours to be able to get ahold of popular titles. As a producer of goods, if you lose your ability to market your product in Wal Mart stores you're going to take a hit. Not necessarily because the customers don't have access to your product, but it may become a lot less convenient for them to get to it.

LMfao camping stores jeez what do you need to take for that? lol stores robbed for 360's that's .. hahaha freaking funny.

MS should still just shut up.
Bill needs a chill pill.
