I quit smoking once. For about 3 months actually.

I was mean, high stung, and all around hard to deal with.

I decided I'd rather die of lung cancer than try to live like that.

/em lights up a Kamel

Excellent ^^ I hope you can stick with it.
I have been smoke free for almost 18 months now. 'Twas a long hard road indeed, and I still get the occasional craving.

I used Tootsie pops for the first 2 weeks and gum for a month after that in place of cigs. I also found that my addiction was more mental than physical, and once I was able to kick that "pacifier" mentality it was all good.

Good luck to you and I seriously wish you nothing but the best.

I concur. There have been weeks (before I had a job) where I couldn't afford cigarettes. Didn't have a single craving, I view smoking as something I enjoy doing, but isn't necessary for me to function. While I am addicted to nicotine as any smoker is, I have a higher tolerance for not smoking than most it seems. It's all in the mindset.

The power of the mind upon the body is staggering sometimes.

Good luck, Sphene! I've never smoked, but I've watched my roommate struggle to quit and I know it's not easy. I'll send a prayer your way for the willpower and perseverence to hold true to your goal.

Congratulations on stepping up to the challenge! /clap

oh >.> and here i thought you were always like that......

Felicidades...if for some weird reason, theres none online and im on, feel free to.....nvm.

GL /grin

Being a person with 3 years experience in a pharmacy, willpower (+money) is all you need ^_^.

One of the best things you could ever do for your health, and everyone's insurance costs.

You can do it!

My husband and i are trying to quit because i have lost 2 family members to cancer . Today i am leaving for the funeral and let me tell ya this is going to be hard dealing with this and trying not to smoke , needless to say i packed to pack of cigarettes for emergancy . But Goodluck Sphene lemme know how the patch is this will be my first time trying to quit so hopefully i can do it . See ya in Ls soon .

Well you don't just quit, quit. Some people do, but there's nicotine gum, patches and tablets to help to cut down to the point you don't need it anymore. Just need to spend additional money, that's all.

Start up an online prostitution biz exclusive to FFXI. You'll make millions... smoking will never be more affordable!

I'll watch your back Sphene ;D. I'm sure you'll find a way ^^.

Aw man. Good luck! A very hard habit to break.

If you can get past 3 days without one, you can go forever without.
Just have to break the habit.
I've done it many times and on that 4th day I didn't care for one.
But, whenever I got one I would smoke it, lol.

Thanks everyone ^_^

I hate those words. Out of 189 women polled, not one of them wanted foreplay involving a John Deere haybailer. Not a god damn one. 188 of them replied with - you guessed it - "I'm not that kind of girl".

The other one tragically died from an unforseen sexual haybailer-related incident.

damn all i can say is good luck :P i "quit" for 6 months and just started again lately, so more power to ya, you will smell better at least lol. but who honestly can keep from smoking when they drink???? now thats the hard thing.....

I traded smoking for coffee, works like a charm,
