Oh woe is me. I’m now going to have too much free time on my hands. I might actually have to do events that have drops useful to me. This is such a sad tale. I could start from the beginning but instead I will go back to last Monday.
The scent of anticipation for the arctic chill filled me with that wonderful tingly feeling. There was dynamis to be done and NOTHING could be more enjoyable than pressing an assist macro for 3~4 hour when looking at a loot pool. Ah but this day was different from the other days. For this day I had a new lv 75 so I had something to lot in there. And not only that. But it was something that was actually useful to said 75 job. No. nothing as spectacular as giving a wyvern storetp/regen/fastcast/”uh zashin?”. Why it wasn’t even as magnificent as enhanced gilfinder. It was just boring old fastcast. Why would a rdm ever need fastcast? I mean... they have haste already don’t they?
At the time of this run I had at least 20 points above the next/first person in line. The run was being run by the mighty and just Hellfirebrimstn. Oh so sadly the tiers hadn’t been updated to the current point totals so in his omniscience he declared that instead of looking at those whom had declared a new tier and then looking at point totals on the same thread that he was reading off the tiers from to see who was in the lead in the interest of “fairness.” Now. Like a little petulant child, no a moron, no a pathetic little kid holding a temper tantrum in a crowded supermarket with a family rich enough to know that I would not be in for the most painful buttwhuppin of my life no matter how bad I get I decided to skip the run. So sad. So sad. For such a little thing I ruined what had been a perfect attendance record for northlands.(not including times where it would have been illegal for me to attend the run. My priorities were obviously skewed since the prospect of being sent into a military prison for being awol and/or getting fined $300~$500 minimum is nothing compared to the thrill of the game)
Less than 5 minutes into the run a RDM body dropped. It is obviously a body that I did not deserve since it’s not like we had some sort of tracking system in place to decide whom deserved an item more. You know. Like one of them newfangled point systems? But of course such things are unreliable for determining how much a person worked in a ls. A chorus of joy fills the light of vanadiel as Hellfirebrimstn declares the next person in line for rdm body. Why it is none other than hellfirebrimstn! Oh I am filled with regret for doubting his wisdom now. It all because so clear. I saw the error of my ways and so did Moriarti for he was actively saying that he would have gladdy kick me for being immature enough to not attend that run. This is truly a fitting punishment for a heinous crime like mine. I’m sure everyone here agrees.
Oh btw. A second rdm body dropped.
Now in rolls Friday.
After a delightful conversation with gladdy (which I will share later)I go afk for a second to find my just reward given. Is there more to this story? Stay tuned for the next instalment “ Wait, I’m the one that had relic stolen from me yet im going to have my ls destroyed?!” You will see amazing concepts like that guy who didn’t need anything from dynamis since http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showthread.php?t=55908 (that’s around march to those that don’t wanna click) was doing it to pad points instead of actually wanting to help a ls that helped him.
Note: to put the 20 point lead into context each run gives 0.5 points for being early, 1 for the run, and 0.5 for being at the end. This means that 20 points is equivalent to 10 runs or 2 ½ months of attendance.
