Just picked this up today (came out today) and it's pretty bad ass. Samurai warriors and dynasty warriors combined, can't go wrong there. Haven't gotten very far in and unlocked many people but so far its good. I like the fact you get 3 characters and you can switch between them at any time. The only problem is, you dont build musou when you kill people or get hit, you only build it on the 2 chars you arent playing as. So basically you switch them out and the regen and build musou while you kill with one, then switch them out and such. The only other thing I don't like is that they took out the roll feature, so you can't roll away from enemies. Otherwise I'm lovin it so far. If you are a fan of the games this one is pretty bad ass. Maps so far look like reworks of old SW and DW maps. Got some cool features like being able to combined weapons you get to make them stronger and other stuff. Solid warriors game so far.

Sorry for the wall, but it's a bad ass game so far.

Do they still have "The Battle Of Huo Lao Gate"? That was by far my favorite DW map across all games.

I don't quite like the sound of the musou building on everyone *but* you though. That seems pretty silly, and that regen thing you mentioned sorta breaks the game in your favor. But i might be way over playing it.

I can't wait to try and pick this up from the blockbuster by my house.

Is there an online co-op/how is offline co-op?

To answer your question, no online co-op, offline I believe is split screen though, haven't seen it in action.

The game has it's own original storylines now since they introduced a Demon named Orochi and mixed all these characters, so while you'll recognize maps from both games, the objectives and units are completely new. I do like the new skill system, similar to Samurai Warriors but making the skills available to all officers cuts down on the repetition. The new weapon fusing system is what I enjoy the most, finally can make a bad ass weapon without having to rely too much on luck.

Only thing I didn't like is some of these new voices. Especially the Samurai Warriors 2 cast, most of the voices are terrible, but it's no huge deal.

Oh, and the Musou thing about not building when attacking can be fixed with the proper abilities and weapon effects.

Picked it up this morning and I have to say Im enjoying ti so far, Even though I truely got my ass handed to me on the 2nd mission of Samurai Warriors story, because I wasnt actually paying attention to my health bar

Yeah, I lost the first Wei mission because I couldn't protect all my allies, game seems tougher than the previous Koei games, but I'm guessing it's because I still need to upgrade a bunch of the abilities and weapons. I'm liking the Right Bumper special attacks, Sun Ce rapid attack is fun to watch.

Yeah, i unlocked the Musou building up while fighting skill, but at lvl 1 you get like a cm into the bar ever 300 kills, if you built up for it though it could be good.

And although the regen health seems broken, health items hardly EVER drop, they are pretty rare, and the game is more difficult then previous installments. I almost died once on easy setting with a lvl 30 dude lol, wasn't paying attention and was fighting 4 generals. As of right now im doing a speed run through each story to get most of the base chars (so playing on easy and rippin through) Then ill probably set it to hard and play through with the people i like, unlock the rest of the chars and play all the gaiden missions.

If it had Create a character, this would be a perfect warriors game, but i still think its probably my favorite so far.

Also, anyone else think the speed characters are by far the best. The dash ability is bad ass, and there RB moves are ridiculous. Sakon Shimas lighting could just rape a general, you wouldnt even have to swing lol. Maybe its more noticeable on harder settings.

The Musou charge skill is nice because it's a regen, doesn't matter if your fighting or not, but your right, I got it at level 2 and I barely see it go up, gotta level it too. I haven't used many Speed characters, only one I can think of is Taishi Chi from Wu (dunno why they made him a speed person), I've mostly stuck to power characters, and have had no problems, maybe I'll give them a shot.

Samurai levels so far are bastard hard, the ones where you have to protect people anyway. They just run off rambo style, get killed and apologize for being an idiot while your there cursing at your tv screen (Fuck you Lu Xun you idiot)

The shu level where you have to rescue Yue Ying blows because she just runs off to the escape point, but the leader on your side decided to sit back and get hammered. The first time i went back to save him and yue died. Then i just stuck with yue and he died, on the third try though i killed the ambush dudes quick enough so i got her to the escape point, still a bitchy level.

Completed Samurai Main story Line - Nobunaga and Mitsuhide both level 35, Hideyoshi level 90, whoops :)
