ok, I'll respond...
first off.. People are far too quick to be judgemental, and arrogant.
I've pt'd with most of the people that have posted.. I have no problems with any of you, and admire most of you. So this post kind of confused me. first off, Tex ain't bad.. yes I used "ain't". I've dc'd in the past in similar situations when my internet provider, Timer Warner couldnt get my broadband fixed.. night before last for example, I used my Empress Band.. got one kill.. BAM!

This is after a couple months of bitching and moaning to TW and giving up.. talking to the rude ass after hours answering service in my local town.. because they wouldn't page a service tech.. because it wasn't a Cable TV issue.. and they don't offer after hours service for internet... This is after the service tech's specifically told them to page them for MY call, I know this because they came out today and jumped on me for not having them paged...... they need to catch it down to trace the problem.. (thats my personal rant)
I finally got back to my pt.. almost 15 or 20 min later.. and God bless em they saved my spot... they saw me DC..
well if Tex did a quick warp to keep downtime down (for lack of a better term) and dc'd mid warp.. then it happened.. as far as anyone knows he planned on telling his pt soon as he got to home point. kinda hard to talk to party mid warp.. and he dc'd mid warp... now I will fault the ol' boy for not telling his pt members the next time he did get on.. probably forgot who they were.. I know I forget most of my pt members from day to day unless they were either horrible, or exceptional.. We all know for the last couple months disconnects have been random and frequent for some people. not everyone.. but some... POL is having issues.. and by continuing our membership we accept that.
This game is about teamwork, making friendships, and enjoying ourselves.. pitting ourselves, and our unique personalities, experiences and "job" abilities against common enemies.. for many of us this is what we found appealing about Final Fantasy.. It's not about the individual. This is not supposed to be about me me me.. We have Linkshells.. we "play" in Parties.. we're supposed to get along, plan together, work together, thats what makes this game enjoyable, and damnit thats the way the developers planned it.. isn't it obvious. If you don't like it.. go to WoW.. I, personally am tired of the "if you want help what's in it for me?" attitude...
I know it's my individual personailty to enjoy helping others, meeting new people, and see the limits of my job and go against the grain.. that's why I'm a Taru whm and drg... Then I enjoy doing the heavy damage, and blowing things up.. thus my main.. blm. So, what I propose is this.. rather than taking every opportunity to flame someone... whether it's to get attention or it irritated you THAT much, tell that person. /sea for them online.. ask them personally before you attack them where they can't defend themselves. If Tex wasn't told about this post.. This could have damaged his reputation incredibly... I appeal to the decency in all of us.. Help your fellow adventurers out.. focus on teamwork.. play the game for enjoyment, not for the purpose of wanting to be better than the next guy so much, and individual gain.. but to make the game more enjoyable for others.. I think if we can all do this.. we'll find ourselves all enjoying the game more.
mages .. .when you're not going to exp.. spend some time in the dunes. throw some cures and raises around.. the appreciation I get back from low lvl peeps is awesome.. melee.. if you're high enough and don't have anything better to do.. help someone do a quest..camp an NM, get a coffer key.. get quest items.. something.. I know I bitch alot about SE forcing us to have high lvl help to get anything that others deem as necessary at our current lvl. I've been fortunate enough to join 2 LS's that don't mind helping.. Paddington spends practically ALL of his time helping... I mean that literally. I'm not saying everyone should do that.. but remember when you were that person's level.. and desperately wanted that genkai cap done.. or that rare/ex armor, or that spell.. or help doing a BCNM, or even walking from one area to the next? and tell me this .. How many of you actually got your altep and yhoater and Vahzl tele-point crystals the normal way.. ? Who took you to get them ?
Have you done something like that for someone else?
Tex isn't a bad person.. and I'm sorry he didn't get back in touch with you after he dc'd . but truly .. does your one experience with him justify telling the whole server not to pt with him ?
now the santa hat deal.. if he's exp'ing with me and wears that stupid hat, he and I will go round and round on that one.. but chances are I'll be the mage in that situation.. from what Ive seen from him he takes his melee jobs far more serious than whm.. most people only do whm for their specific purpose.. and stop when they achieve it.. whether it's for tele's promy, subbing, or getting spells for rdm.. or whatever... I was under the impression he didn't like playing whm.
