Well, I'm in Whitegate now. I just have one major pissy moment though. I lag hard when I talk to an NPC. Any clues?

it's why i avoid setting my hp there like the plague; i dont lag as bad as most people but i feel the effects lol

I would check your connection to see the speed your connection is and what could/should be getting. Also make sure your other family members/room mate aren't downloading anything big and taking up most of the connection if you're sharing it. Otherwise I would check your video card/motherboard to make sure it up to date and can handle the game. My laptop had troubles with the game so I had my brother build me a desktop and it works MUCH better than my laptop ever did. I hardly ever get lag in Whitegate. The only time I seem to is when I join besieged, but I think most people get that so I accept it.

I'm on PS2, I'm the only one who uses the internet, and I've had worse lag, but not while talking to an NPC. It's just retarded and seems like it's server side almost. I can still type but can't bring up macro pallet or menu.

Yeah, I would switch to PC. XD To me it just sounds like the HD you're using or your internet provider is fucked up. Good luck on fixing it.
 
Not really...Whitegate can be congested to such an extreme degree that NPCs will often times simply not work properly, whether it be slow responses or locking up entirely, causing you to need to force disconnect (I hear this being an issue quite often with Raubahn or whateverthehell the Assault tag NPC is named). This can also be especially evident if you try to navigate the AH during peak play hours during weekends and such.

Over 2gigs of RAM and a rather high amount of GhZ and my computer still had horrendous AU lag issues back when I was still able to play. It's pretty much the zone simply being fairly overloaded.

Pfft eff that idea, just go to the tunnel in Valkrum kill the gobs and get the WHM test.

When I got mine me(75DRG) a 75SAM friend and a 50 WHM went and killed 3 gobs and got 2 tests. Took like 10 minutes.

PC fails! (yeah being sarcastic, but I love my controller)

Nothing is wrong with your ps2 or internet connection. I play on ps2 and lock up on the coin guy, warp taru, and assault tag npc. Same for everyone I know that plays on ps2. Sometimes I'll get on my laptop, pass the npc, then get back on ps2 >.>
 
Whitegate's a bit less laggy I find since WotG opened up, more people head to Campigan than Beseiged more exp for less time consumed.
 
This is actually a good flame. Just think. How many times does the person who flames someone, walks away being happy? Never. In this case, Helius, flamed someone for no reason, realized the error of his own way, solved his problem, and will now be a better player.

This is a rare moment for the flame board.
 
Yeah, I hate it too; let's hope the next flame won't be so damn constructive -.-
 
If you need tau access pre 52 just exp in quicksand caves for one party. It's honestly not hard to get a common drop from an exp camp that you go to before you even need the acess.
 
Off topic, but why is it that people always say 'X' expansion has been out 'X' amount of time how can you not have this, how can you not have that?

Have any new people joined the game in the past few years, have any new people not joined the game in the past month, and are these people going to concentrate on the content that they can make use of right away or content that they really can't?

People always look at things in terms of themselves and how long they've been playing. There are new people playing who go through things in pretty much the same order we did when we started playing.
