Weaponskill Changes - Post what you notice

Thf can do good damage. Most thf just suck at thf.
not only that but what do you think rogues roll is for?

I never said THF didn't do good damage. They always were good DD with the right setup but most people didn't know that and still don't. But with 2 handers getting such a big boost THFs will be left in the shadows again.

Dual wielding axes on DRK was never a good thing to begin with.

It was still useful in certain parties...often people made you do it for cannons :P

Drk w/ axe/axe i hope will never ever outparse a scythe. I can't even think of any place where it would be useful. SErampage only get slightly bigger numbers that a SEguillo, and for a pretty good chunk more of health.

It wasn't for outparsing, it was to stay undamaged in merit parties ;x This was before the coming of dread spikes and whatnot though. So what do I know, I'm an old fogey:old:

Meh.. I suppose that could be true... people try and force me to go nin vs colibri when I suggest I go as my thf when a voker is already present.

I dont know why any cannon job would be bitching about this, it only makes pting with the non-cannon jobs less painful. has anyone done any tests to see how much these jobs would be doing /nin? since they would most likely be forced to sub that if they were going out with the wars mnks nins. all and all i love this update though. the appeased the bitchy nerf criers without hurting us cannon peeps

My samurai's been orgasming non-stop since I heard about the actual changes in this update. I'm waiting a couple days for the prices on grips to drop down(they had already dropped by the time I had logged last night); but I'm definitely getting that platinum grip and staff strap.

I'm curious how this change will effect the status of cannon parties. I'd be more worried, but as Jamal said, everyone's pretty much busting out massive weapon skills on really weak mobs(imps) or thing that they get a damage bonus to. It's kind of like bragging about doing more damage to the genkai two NM's; although now that the level on those is that of level 51 exp mob, that should be even more fun to solo; but it's not really showing the the effects of the change.

We're going to have to reparse everything, this is a major shift in the mechanics of the game; gear that was proven to be the best might not be anymore. I'm very curios to see the results of the parses, but I don't think that the cannon parties are going to change all that much.

The previous cannon DD's were all the top DD's because of their damage over time, not their weapon skill damage(monk is the perfect example of this). While the weapon skills of the 2-handed weapons have been vastly improved, they still gain TP much slower than the previous cannon jobs and as a result wouldn't function as well in a cannon-type setting. This update is a huge boost, but I don't think it's going to let a 2-hander participate in the big cannons; although now they'd be able to function much better in burns against colbiri.

I'm not really worried about any repercussions of this update, I have two DoT jobs, and one 2-handing job. My samurai might win out as the top damage dealer, but I'm still going to enjoy playing on my monk more. The mnk/war/nin's that are bitching about the update are the posers, just like with the RNG and the BLM nerfs; they only leveled the jobs because they were powerful. Anyone who leveled the job because they loved the job, while they might not get invites as fast anymore, they're still going to play the job.

DRK/NIN in almost ANY instance will never be as good as a DRK with a scythe.

WAR/NIN are so profound because they have double attack, and they can MERIT double attack, + they have several choices for Double Attack gear.

DRK can get... Uhh... Brutal Earring, which is then just a measly 5% DA proc rate, compared to WAR's ~20%? With gear and merits and such.

Lol, good thing THF has never needed anyone else to begin with.

Has anyone here tried to invite a BST to a Merit Party yet to test out the "no exp penalty" update?

There's a good spot on Mount Zhayolm fighting Hilltrolls. There are (to Lv. 75 BST) DC Leeches in the area that, by themselves, cause some hefty damage to the Hilltrolls. If anyone is willing to try this, give me a /tell and I'll put my BST melee and Charm gear on and give it a try!

BTW, my DRK is 70 with capped Scythe (I never bothered with GS) please invite meh!!!

What does the no exp penalty have to do with a party? The party never got exp loss because of a bst before, only the bst did. Now, no one does.

This update is officially the death or RNGs in merit parties. Personally, I don't care really but I can imagine someone who leveled RNG as their first job will have a really hard time getting any merits. Before that you could, maybe, get an invite if there was nothing else. Now I'll probably laugh if I get an invite on rng.

(How are most Ninja tanks going to have a chance in Hell, with damage like this?)

They'll use Great Katanas!

Well just for fun I tried on G Ktn. earlier, 40 less Att then with Katanas but 100 less skill to. On the other hand, I gain 53 acc. so that changes gear and food.

Probably won't happen but it'd be interesting to see a capped G.Ktn. nin results.

You would be VERY surprised at the amount of people who didn't know that, Tyrath. (not including me, of course)

I know most people don't know that. But I meant testing them in party wouldn't really do anything >_>

Anyone in the middle levels tried two handed weapons out? My SAM is 62, and itching to get going with it.

STR 1= ATT1 and DEX 1 = ACC 1 is insane.

I really want to play to see some 2h action.
