Maybe I skimmed this thread too fast, but is 1 DEX seriously 1 acc now? Regardless, holy shit SE, you finally put a major fix into effect o_o
 
Yes. I tested this personally last night, and for me, it's solid enough.

Warped out to Mamool. Took all gear off save for the Great Axe.

Mamool Ja Pikeman checked:
Incredibly Tough
Low Defense

I then put on Life Belt.

Mamool Ja Pikeman checked:
Incredibly Tough
Low Evasion, Low Defense

I then took off Life Belt, and put on one Sniper's, and Fowler's Earring (+8 ACC)

Mamool Ja Pikeman checked:
Incredibly Tough
Low Defense

I then took off Sniper's, took off Fowler's. I put on Byakko's Haidate (Normally would be around 7.5acc w/o 2h, therefore beneath the Fowler's + Sniper's)

Mamool Ja Pikeman checked:
Incredibly Tough
Low Evasion, Low Defense.

Good game SE, good game.
 
So does this mean not only do two handed weapons get overpowering att, but now they can eat meat without suffering too much from acc loss? damn...
 
Guess that means I have to merit more =/

Time to take up GK and Scythe...to 5...
 
I'm slightly annoyed and happy at the same time that meriting dex might be useful for my upcoming sam and drg. only 2/5 in str merits and they're already annoying.
 
Raja's Ring = super1337s now. str+5, dex+5, atk+5, acc+5. Thunder Rings are better than Sniper/Woodsman now for 2handers, hehe.

I already used meat on everything... now I have to dismantle my gear sets and add a ton of att. because I have way too much acc. I just got me a flame ring.
 
I saw a vast difference while farming yovra organs with my ls just last night. We took down a yovra in about 4~5 minutes without any struggles with 2 sam, drk, 2 nin, 2 blm, rdm, and whm. Pre-update we had some difficulties with the same setup + a pld and brd. The sam were too much for the poor UFO. WS were landing for around 1200-1300. It was fun to see.
 
Off topic question. do you need a /wait 1 between equip changing and weaponskill?
 
Nope. Can't hurt to have one to compensate for lag, but it's not necessary for the command interpreter to process it.

Hauby is still better. you wont be as much of an idiot or cheap bastard but you're still not bright for using it except maybe if the vit mods for GAxe ws actually can compensate for losing 5 atk and 5 acc(which i suppose they would)

i know this is kind of a late post in this thread and all but I just wanted to clarify what happened here

when I first had his character it was stripped with about 1 million on it in hard cash, a hauberk +1 and the rest of the thick set +1

I asked him if I could sell the thick +1 stuff and did, netting me about 10 million total

I bought the bard gear with that, merited a bit on it, got bored

sold it off and bought warrior gear.

I never actually sold off his gear, just rotated in and out of some gear that I bought from stuff he was actually trying to sell before he quit in the first place
