Anyone know of a safe/reliable web host that allows 10-15 subdomains. I tried searching for some on Google but "Results 1 - 10 of about 6,290,000" is not very encouraging lol....any help would be appreciated.

Heh, as I was writing the below post and realized how much I sounded like an advertisment. Disclaimer: Not an ad, just informative advice. I'm not even eligible for referral kickbacks, so if I didn't feel it was worth it, I wouldn't have posted this...

My company: pair Networks. We do web hosting and domain name registration. I write and maintain a lot of the domain registration and internal software. Although, I can tell you my web account is quite luxurious. We offer a lot of professional services for domain names (free parking, DNS, Email forwarding, etc).

Depending on the package, the webhosting side makes available many development tools (Perl, PHP, FTP, SSH Access, multiple domains, MySQL db access, etc). We're a big-time supporter of OpenSource and the Perl community. All of our data center servers run Apachi on FreeBSD and have MULTIPLE OC-12c and GigE backbones as well. All of this is on the websites too.

I go with Dreamhost. I pay about... $120 annually or something like that for Swishiee.com. You get unlimited subdomains, I think around 20GB webspace (not 100% sure on that one at the moment, but it's somewhere around there), and a whole bunch of awesome extras. Plus they usually have deals going on all the time for their different plans. I paid only $10 for my first year with them when I started.

Edit: Mine is their most basic one. The Crazy Domain Insane deal if you look at the site.

I use geeky designs webhosting, which is geared to small-medium vbulletin sites, and does allow 10 subdomains on the smallest package (the one I use). If your site is some allakazham sized megasite I'm not sure Geeky Designs caters to that crowd. www.geekydesigns.com/forums is probably your best resource if you're interested. My site is still small so I can't tell you how well the service handles high bandwidth and such, but I can say neither I nor any of my ls mates (my site is a linkshell forum) have experienced a white screen of doom. The guy who runs the company is pretty reliable too. I gotmy initial setup on Xmas day (yay for money gifts) and he answered my PM in a couple hours and I had a website before the day was done. I'm a pretty happy customer - only 20 dollars a month too, though you can get a 40 and 80 dollar plan as well with more of everything.
