Well this is an odd turn of events, for sure. I don't know if anyone should get too comfortable with this.

Well I have a bit of an update, it's been just over a couple hours and my select style has not changed. It has stayed on Nightshift. So either thank yous are in order, or I'm just happy QCDN has stopped throwing a tantrum for me.

I think there was some type of server hiccup that deleted anyone in a certain usergroups chosen style back to the default. It would make sense because in the beginning people were saying they went back to QCDN2008 (Which was the forum default at the time) and then afterwards I changed the forum default to Element and then people were saying it was switched to that.

I've been kind of waiting it out to see if it's an issue that happens more then once. I'm hoping it's just a small error that happened in a small time frame and people need to just switch back. It's odd.

Mine keeps switching... :/

I've looked in to it a bit to no avail and i'm pretty sure Miros has too with the same results.

It may just be a problem in the database that's causing it, though, and that's not something that can really be fixed. It still hasn't happened to me though, which is kinda weird.

I'm not sure if this is an "issue" but something I've noticed that's been different (for me, at least) is the portal page. I would normally just click the banner to get to the main forum page, but instead it keeps reloading the portal page.

When I idle the cursor over the banner it gives the link target as www.qcdn.org/index.php

Is this supposed to happen? No real big deal if so, it's just a bit annoying to have to click on the link and having another browser window open.

Which style?

Ya mine keeps switching to element from nightshift, driving me nuts.

I think this may have to do with the portal page which I really need to start calling John hourly to get him to change the url so it brings us directly to www.qcdn.org/ffxi. If you are just typing in www.qcdn.org then there is a chance that the portal will mess with your login and style changes according to a close source.

I have my site linked under http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi and I have yet to experience this problem. One suggestion would be to log out complete, clear off your cookies and then re-login through http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi instead of the basic www.qcdn.org url.

Apologies for the issue.

I never go to qcdn.org. I always /ffxi. I and this has happened to me when I've F5'd qcdn.org/ffxi/index.php. Weirdness!!!

The default theme is QCDN 2008 right? recently it's been element...I also did what you suggested Miros, but to no avail ; ;

I don't think that's it Miros. Although mine is still behaving properly (thank goodness), even when it was acting up I was using my bookmark which is www.qcdn.org/ffxi >_>

so idunno

Clearly this is a viral problem. Viral as in "marketing" or "video", not "virus zomg scan your computer."

I only say that because I only ran into this problem after reading this thread. HIGHLY SUSPECT, I say.

I never even touched my display settings, I just always knew my QCDN looked a certain way, and now its different. I think we can safely rule out the random reversal of changes, since I didn't have a prior history to revert to.
