So, I need to take a moment here to flame our beloved Square Enix for their monumental stupidity.

I was out in South Gustaberg as my 28 thf/rng camping LL. Things were going pretty well, i had the Pop Holder timed perfectly, got a few claims w/o drop and was patiently waiting for another spawn. I had my brother with me cause he needed the boots as well. So, this 75 dude shows up and starts killing lizards. I don't pay any attention to him since he obvously doesn't know WTF he's doing. Eventually he gets bored and starts spamming WS.
My brother walks up to this 75 guy (Yurian) and /check's him to admire his gear. Yurian, being a typical 75 jack-ass, switches his gear. Well, my brother still wants to see what he's wearing, so he /check's again. The guy freaks, switches gear over and over and then starts bitchin' in /say. Says "knock it off or i'll kill everything and make you stay out here for hours."
Thats just juvenile if you ask me, but whatever. So, eventually, my friend shows up to camp with us. He, having seen the chat log of Yurian being a moron, decides it'll be funny to follow him around and /check him from time to time. Yurian doesn't take it to well and starts killing all the mobs in the zone. When he's finished my brother and friend follow him to his perch on the rock and /dance4 motion repeatedly.
Eventually, Yurian has a heart attack and leaves, we claim LL again and finally get a drop (1/25). No more than 30 seconds after the kill, my friend is teleported to Mordion. Apparently he was reported for spamming emotes which was a "grief tactic" which is against the ToS.

So, first and foremost i'm flaming Yurian for just being a dip shit. If you don't like /check's, filter them out. If you don't like emotes, filter them out. If you wanna see emotes, just not a specific person's, /blist them. If you don't like watching a character /dance4, grow up beyond the mentality of a 4 year old and ignore them.

My second part of this flame goes whole-heartedly to Square Enix's idiocy.
This game is filled to the brim with cheaters. There are bots of all kinds. Voke bots, fish bots, tele bots. All kinds of fun things. Lets take a moment and do the following, /sea all skyp
What you'll find is some jack-ass Galka in King Ranperre's Tomb hiding his stats. This man, is a voke bot for spook. I've personally reported him twice. My brother has reported him 3 times. Nothing has been done.
Now, what about the little Taru Tele Bot we all know and hate? Rayes! He's been tele-botting for quite some time. I've reported him a few times but of course, nothing has been done. (I don't report him anymore cause i can get his bot to tele me for free, but w/e)
There are plenty of other cheaters out there, we all know it. Most of them will continue completely unhindered by SE for months to come.

Why the FUCK is it that SE will continually over look CHEATERS, but a legit player gets hit for dancing.
Just plain fucking gay if you ask me....time in Mordion for dancing.....honestly.

spamming emotes on people...is considered an offense and a particularly annoying one. Why did you continue to do that even if he was being a prick in the first place for a few examines(also done repeatedly is an offense). I'm not saying that he's entirely right but maybe you should read the ToS or simply have the maturity to leave idiots alone and not get in trouble later on for spamming dance4 emotes.

Honestly I have gmed people for that after asking people to stop because they were trying to grind my gears and annoy me, you were doing to spite him. So neither party imo is completely guilty nor innocent.

Idk, rules are rules... maybe they're dumb, but because they're dumb doesn't mean everyone should ignore them.

Also, yeah I agree that its stupid they'll sooner act on /emote spamming than obvious botting. However, I would assume it's a lot easier to check the log for emote spamming than a repeated act over a period of a few hours. These GM's DO work in 8 hour shifts like any other 9-5 job. While I think it's silly that your friend got banned because of some fool who was oversensitive about /checking and decided to be a dick, I also think the GM was in the right to send your buddy to time-out for being just as annoying.

Is easier to check logs for spammers than it is past history for botters. Retarded or not, it's (apparently) against the ToS, and doing it will result in a STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM. Also, for future reference, the /check command will let you check someone's gear even if they swap gear.
 
Usually if you report to a GM for spamming someone they will tell you to blist the person or filter.

Seems like you found a retarded GM.

That's pretty shitty, but like people have said it would be easier to check logs then having to catch a bot in the act or what ever it is that they do.

Also I'd like to know how you get the free teleports from Rayes.

FYI for future reference, rather than targeting someone and hitting check in the minimenu, do it with command-line (/check playername or /c playername). Believe you don't get booted out of checking them if they switch gears, if you do it that way. Admittedly, you do still have to be able to spell their name - which can be difficult in some cases like when the person has a gazillion repeated letters - but that's not usually an issue.
 
Adding in a <t>, instead of a name can fix that problem.

Even doing that you will get booted when he blinks, since you loose target of him. For typing /c "Name" to work, you can't target the person at all.

Usually the people who gear swap for /checks have nothing to see anyways. I will never ever ever.. ever ever..... ever ever ever understand why people freak about it... ever.

This works fine if you're -that- curious, Helius caught me with it months ago when I was tryina swap off some gimp gear while leveling a lowbie.

A personal note about the THF: Yurian's a nice enough guy, some people just don't like being checked when their gear might not be the best when they're out and about.

Problem wouldn't have continued, if well-enough was left alone instead of being the dipshit you're trying to peg Yurian as, and quit harassing him.

I hope your pal enjoys his Gaol time. ;O

First off, I asked him nicely to not spam check me. I said looking is fine, I really don't mind, but when you spam it its annoying. I had a long day at school, all I wanted to do was camp that stupid lizard for a little while and maybe go 1/10 so I could sell off my winged boots. Its funny how you say I was spamming ws when I didnt ws once I was just burning up what was left of my demon arrows, 1 shot 1 kill.
I was killing the East and West Ph's, not all the lizards. And when your buddy "Tufnek" wouldn't stop spam checking me after I asked nicely to stop, I snapped at him and said "Or I could start killing everything and make us stay here for hours." Which I'm pretty sure is an empty threat, but whatever.

That ended that or so I thought. But no, 2 on 1 wasn't enough. I assume that Twille = Thatoneguy who if I'm correct is who you were playing as, because there wasn't a twille in zone. So now you bring out your other buddy, and he starts /following me spam checking me, and generally harassing me in say. Telling me how much I suck and how you 3 will beat me to every pop (3 on 1 fucking hope so) and then in /sh and that gay ass /emote dancing.

I had enough, I didn't retaliate verbally and asked him to stop. He didn't so I called a GM.
I never said one word to you and I even complimented you saying "That you seemed pretty competent, and didn't need extra help." He starts calling me "selfish" cause I'm "stealing from a deserving low lvl" when I had been beat to almost every single PH pop.
I hope your buddy has fun in GM jail. I'm glad a GM finally did something right.
 
Sounds like your brother and friend were being douche bags and deserved it, I think it's kinda funny.
