How do you know all colors are dependent on the father? Looking over the honeymoon plans, you can chose to raise the chance that your chick will inherit the plans from eithe rfather or mother, which leads me to believe that they will either inherit the father's or the mother's stats.

They'll most likely inherit both, just more from one of them.
Because the chocoguy says it in plain english... "Color is dependant on the male"

i dunno, luck?

all my stats are poor, and it doesn't run as fast as a normal chocobo does

did you get the egg from a ISNM?

I dont think the birds (like in Lyrai's post) are actually a brown or red. They dont look like your typical yellow choco. More like a rusty color. Mine is the same way.

Does anyone know how I can start on a second egg? Can I retire my current chocobo and then start on a new one or do I HAVE to let my other chocobo free first?

Go to another city.

You can retire it if you want to start a new one, however as long as you dont retire you can continue to raise its stats. Im going to raise this one to Outstanding in all and then retire and start fresh in the same city, raising 2 other Bo's in sandy and windy at the same time.

I believe they said color influence is from father, where as attribute lineage is a mix of both. Don't quote me on that, haven't read those patch notes in almost a month.

They auto retire after a certain time. You won't be able to get Outstanding in all 4 attributes without breeding. Even then, who knows how many breedings it will take, since they probably won't. inherit exact parental stats, but rather don't start off completely empty in any category.

I got my Chocobo Whistle today... I would call Ice Angel, but, she has a damaged leg, I want to let her rest. Perhaps, just perhaps, I was the first person on this server to have a Chocobo Whistle?

can't use whistle in xarcabard or glacier :|
My guess is he beat ya to it.

Mine has the black tips and when I check it tonight it should be day 29, I so hope that it turns out to be all Black XD

I got my choco whistle and able to call it out almost 2 hrs ago or so. Unfortunately mine is yellow though, and when i called it out, it was just like riding a regular one but slower, and only stayed out for 15 mins total >.<

I tried in Xarcabard and glaciers too, you can't, but it's pretty neat how you can use olduum ring and call it out. I did that. I also dug with it a bit outside Windy, and breeding my choco with my friend's one in Upper Jeuno.

You get a Choco card F and M from each, one character have both cards, then you pay for a dating plan, trade all three to that npc, and wait around for the egg. I'm betting it's one day or until JP midnight.

i'd post a picture if i knew how, but it says something about im not allowed to put attachments

did you have to retire your chocobo in order to ride it ?

No, thought I would have to retire it, but once you find the dirty handkerchief that your choco hid, and then go to sandy or wherever to get your Whistle, then go back to the choco npc where you take care of your choco.

There will be a new option to register to call your chocobo. You can keep raising it for about 1 or 2 months I believe until it automatically gets sent to retirement, but you can still ride it if it's retired.

I think I'm going to retire my choco and raise a new one though once I get a new egg from breeding.

Hmmm... I wonder if you can get a replacement bird whistle, once you use up all the charges... I'd hope/expect so.
