So my high school football team lost last night in the second round of the Illinois state play offs.

While we had a good season 8-3, conference champions for the first time in 12 years etc, its still hard and I don't know how to fill the void thats left by the sport I loved so much.

Just had to get this kind of thing off of my chest and what not, figured this would be an okay spot.

Become obsessed with college football and the NFL. That's what I did. I also filled the void with as many girls who would put out as possible. ^.~ Just wrap your junk, if they give it to you they'll give it to someone else. STD's suck

Watch the game films and highlight videos for about a year, and you can eventually start weening yourself off. But the simple fact remains that once you stop playing, nothing will ever replace it, and theres no way to go back.

Guess youre not invited to partake in any all star games then yah? If you're not playing anywhere in college, you can always try coaching, won't be they same but its as close as you can get now. Or look for some full contact flag leagues.

What positions did you play and was your games on friday nights or saturday afternoon?

I was the center, not so sought after unless I'm 6'6 305 lbs or something, which I'm not lol. All of my games were on Friday night except for two, last weeks play off game and our first game which was only moved because of flood problems.

I'll get over it, its just rough right now and I needed somewhere to vent.

HS Football was tough for me to leave behind, but I have so many great memories. That and the fact that I went on to play in college made it easier. Section champs 3 years, made it to states once, but lost in a very close match, and even got invited to play in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. It was always fun roughing up neighboring towns, but it was also great because our Section had amazing sportsmanship, which made the whole thing better. Good times, I say. Now the team sucks though. I went back at homecoming a couple weeks back and my old team got ran over.

lol kinda creepy... reminds me if my HS senior year... Finally got district after 12 or 14 years and i was the center also. Cept i was 6'1 and about 250 at the time. cept we lost first round of states due to shitty ref's..... pissed me off so bad.

Oh our ref's sucked too, they called phantom calls a few times on us. Hah, I wish I was 6'1 250, our biggest guy on the line this year was 6'0 230. I am 5'11 225. Small and feisty line but we got the job done.

Time will heal all wounds, Z. If anything you can start playing in college if you really work at it. & if not, you showed everyone who doubted you (including me) that you could do the work, and be a great player. Just.. try not to be like Uncle Hulk and relive your glory days over&over&over&over&over&over&over&over.. &over.

I suppose you're right, and the only reason I stuck it out through my Sophomore year is because you said I couldn't.
