Just finished Elemental Gelade which was average at best I thought.

Now watching Ga-Rei-Zero. Pretty awesome so far, kind of half reminds me of Elfen Lied with all the slicing and dicing violence lol.

Just finished re-watching Solty Rei. A great little sci-fi drama about love and family. I call it a drama because.. when you look at it as a whole.. it is one. But it has lots of action as well, so it kinda disguises the fact that it's a drama fairly well but I still got teared up at two parts of the anime.. just like I did the first time I watched it.

Waiting on Darker Than Black season 1 and the complete UFO Ultra-maiden Valkyrie season 1 and 2. I thought I'd get them today.. but turns out they probably wont arrive until Wed., bah. Been wanting to watch Darker Than Black for a long long time now, since I first heard of it. And 'Valkyrie' I actually own a few of the dvd's of, but then was never able to find the rest in stores.. so now that the two seasons are out in completed packages and quite cheap, figured I'd nab 'em. I remember Valkyrie being a fairly silly/funny anime with lots of eye candy.. and I remember enjoying what I have seen of it.

Started watching High School of the Dead. It's just started airing but already it looks to be a really good show for this season.

Recently watched Maria-sama ga Miteru (all 4 seasons) which I enjoyed a lot since it had the whole "Strawberry Panic" feel to it (which is one of my top 5 anime).

Now sifting through Da Capo (all the seasons) although not 100% sure if I really like it yet. Very much like Shuffle and Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun with the whole Harem / School setting but I probably like those better. Still on season 1 mind you so it might develop more and grow on me :D

The ending song is pretty bad ass. I'm not to into this sort of thing but it is slim pickings this season so I might watch it all.

I need to update. Since the last time I posted I have rewatched season 1 of UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie as well as watching season 2 of the show. Really a funny series with quite a bit of fan service. The only thing that bugs me is how they constantly reuse the same transformation scenes just about every episode. It got to the point I would just fast forward through them in season 2. The series was still funny as hell though.

I am a bit disappointed to know that the 3rd and 4th seasons of the show are progressively short and shorter in length than the first two seasons. I believe season 3 is about 6 episodes long, while season 4 is about 3 episodes and that's all. Very sad. I may end up getting them just to finish the series off, but I don't know how good they'll be. The original 2 seasons were both 12 episodes long.

After that, I watched Darker Than Black, season 1. And all became right with the world. This series is absolutely awesome. Music, Character Development, Action, Drama, Comedy and Story.. it has it all, and it's all great. I can't wait for the second season.

However.. now I'm stuck. But I've begun to rewatch Buso Renkin and I've been enjoying it all over again. Nothing bad to say about this anime. It's one of the few animes I've watched where there's always something happening. The story progression is nonstop.

Now beginning reading Higanbana no Saku Yoro ni by Ryukishi07.

Edit: Also, another anime to look out for. Nurarihyon no Mago (Viz is streaming the series as it airs in Japan). It actually seems to be a GOOD anime from Studio Deen O_o;;;

Just finished watching One Piece: Strong World. God this film was amazing =D

This is exactly how an anime movie based on a Manga series should be!

Minor update, finished Buso Renkin like.. the next day after my last post. Really great show.

Then I rewatched Air Gear and remembered why I loved it so much. Another great show, 'cept it ends when the Manga continues and it ends with no finality.. since the story technically still goes on. They only made one season of the anime though, such a shame. This is one manga to anime that is way better to watch animated due to the material. I went and read a few chapters of the manga to compare and there just isn't a comparison. The anime is way better.

Currently rewatching Black Cat. It's an alright anime and it definitely has it's moments, but it kinda seems to drag in spots. I'm also not feeling great so maybe that's why things seem that way. Anyway, not a bad anime at all but typical of your Shonen Jump anime.

Tomorrow I should be recieving the last two "seasons" of UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie along with Hell Girl season 1 and Venus Versus Virus. All of it was less than $40 + shipping. A pretty good deal I think. Now I'll have some new anime to keep me occupied.

Da Capo (all seasons, christ that was a long haul)
Angel Beats (another reason why I love Key/Visual Arts anime)
Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na (a lil ordinary I thought, but Feena = <3)

Unsure of what to watch next, but maybe you guys can help me out?

You can see what I have on my always updated list at MyAnimeList.net Link:- http://myanimelist.net/profile/dazza3949

If there is any glaring omissions that you can't believe I havn't seen then gimme a shout. Oh, and don't suggest Naruto or Bleach as i'm painfully aware I havn't watched those to any extent^^

Hmmm. I suggest to you JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The origin of MUDAH and WRYYYYYYYY!!!

Update time.

I actually attempted to update a few days ago.. but then I lost everything I had typed out, didn't feel like retyping it and went to bed.. but anyway.

I finished up all of UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie (the final two seasons, which was only 8 episodes total) and I have to say, it was a lot better than I could have imagined for being so short. I actually think there was more story in those final 8 episodes than either of the first two seasons (seperately, not combined). Also to my joy, the transformation scenes weren't always shown, which could be part of the reason more story was fit in. I really enjoyed watching this series. I just wish the main couple actually had gotten married at the end, but even though they didn't it was still pretty fitting and I was satisfied.

Then I watched Venus Versus Virus which I was enjoying up until it got to the last few episodes. To be honest I could even overlook some of this story's plot holes if only the final battle was more impressive.!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!! And on top of all that the main bad guy throughout the last half of the anime was basically bitch slapped away on the final episode. What was that crap? This guy was oh so godly powerful but he gets blown away in a matter of seconds at the very end. What's worse, this final "epic" showdown was lame as hell AND THEY DON'T EVEN LET YOU GET AN INKLING OF WHAT THE CONCLUSION OF THE FIGHT WAS. Sure you can guess, but that's not the same as seeing a real ending. I was so fucking pissed when the final episode ended. I litterally stood up and said "WHAT THE FUCK!? THAT'S IT?" and proceeded to rage a little. This show actually had me pretty interested in the characters and their developement, and then at the end it takes a big huge turd on it all.

To sum up briefly what the anime was about for those who might actually be curious: There are things called viruses that are basically like evil spirits but they only attack humans that have "the sight" and can see them. Lucy one of the main characters of the show, is a virus hunter with mysterious powers of her own and a tragic past. Sumire is a normal school girl who one night bumps into Lucy and subsequently is thrown into the the termoil of the existance of viruses. Lucy attempts to save her and by accident discovers that Sumire has dangerous powers of her own, which Sumire wasn't even aware of and can't control. Thus starts the beginning of their relationship, and their fight to uncover the truth about the viruses.

Just thinking about it gets me a little heated even now.

Anyway, lastly I just finished up season 1 of Hell Girl and I am glad I saved it for last. It was an exceptional anime. I thought after the first several episodes I might not like it because every episodes seemed to follow the same kind of pattern, but, ever so subtly as the anime progressed more and more story is infused within the pattern of the episodes until the last bit of the anime is all about the story and slightly less about the pattern. The pattern I speak of is in essence what the anime is about. There's a website, that if you go to it at midnight and enter in the name of the person who you want vengeance upon the Hell Girl will come for that person and take them to Hell. And so the story goes like this throughout 90% of the anime, each episode is about a different person's story and why/how they contacted the Hell Girl. Believe me, there are some evil fucking people that get sent to hell in this anime and you don't feel sorry for them one bit. The anime does a good job of making you despise the people that are getting sent to hell as much as the ones that are sending them there via Hell Girl. I found myself calling some of the evil women in the anime fucking bitches just because of how evil they were. And then it throws a curveball at you and does something a little unexpected, sad, but had to be uncommon to Hell Girl. By the end of the anime you get to actually delve into Hell Girl's past, well.. her name isn't exactly hell girl, it's Ai Enma and you get to learn about her and how she came to do what she does. Taking souls for hell. There's is a secondary side story about a man and his daughter that's equally touching, if not even moreso than Ai's story.

I am definitely looking forward to watching the second season. Hell Girl is an anime I recommend to anyone, well, except for young kids.

Started reading To Love-Ru Darkness and HOLY SHIT! The amount of breast and nipple shots in the first chapter!!! Jump SQ was the best thing to ever happen to Kentaro Yabuki and Saki Hasemi!!!!

Let's resurrect this thread a bit.

I just recently, over the course of 5 days, finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Man, I don't know why I waited to watch this series, it was absolutely amazing.

I've watched both series now and while they're both interesting, Brotherhood was by far the better of the two. 90% of the story is completely new (since it was based off the manga completely) and about 75% of the characters are new. So it was almost like watching a completely different anime that used the same main characters that I was familiar with. It was definitely a great anime.

I finally purchased new anime, which I haven't done in months and months. So I can finally get back to updating this thread with new reviews. Coming up: Trigun (I can finally watch the entire series now that it's being sold in a collection again), Tenchi in Tokyo (already watched this back on Toonami, back in the day. But It's been a long while and I do enjoy the Tenchi series), Tokyo Majin (A good anime, I've watched most of it, but when I did it wasn't great quality), and finally a new one: Sekirei (can't go wrong with a slogan of "Boobies for the win" in my book).

Recently got some import stuff from a couple sellers I know from Japan.

Nurarihyon no Mago 1;
Psyren 1-2;
Fairy Tail 23;
Sket Dance 1;
Beelzebub 1-2;

and finally, my favourite purchase thus far.

TO LOVE-RU VOLUMES 1-3!!!

I also purchased the anime courtesy of Sentai Filmworks (aka Neo-ADV) getting the license.

Also, "read" some spoilers for To Love-Ru Darkness chapter 3...

JUST TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY YABUKI-SENSEI!!!!!

Almost forgot about this thread, thanks for the revive Ecks lol

Thanks for the positive review of FullMetal Achemist: Brotherhood, I have been debating on whether to give it a shot recently and I may just take the plunge now. I watched the first version of FMA a couple of years ago and was wondering how this compared with it. Pleased to hear that it sounds even better than the first which was good in it's own right.

Currently right now i'm watching Spice & Wolf (both series and OVA) and can see why it got the praise it did. Season 2 seems to be more romance based than the first but i'm all for that heh.
I've watched many different series since my last update as I tend to make a plan of watching some anime every day (usually 3-4 episodes a night) so naturally I get through series very quickly lol. The following is what I can remember seeing since August and if anyone wants a review or opinion on a particular series i'll be happy to oblige. So... in no particular order :-

Seitokai no Ichizon
Amaenaideyo! (both seasons)
Hayate no Gotoku (both seasons)
Kyou no Go no Ni
Maria†Holic
Shoujo Sect
Happy Lesson (both seasons)
School Rumble San Gakki (3rd season/OVA type thing)
True Tears
To Heart (both seasons)
To Heart 2 (all seasons/OVA's etc)
Zero no Tsukaima (both seasons)
Code Geass (repeat watched 1st series, followed by season 2 for the first time)
Black★Rock Shooter OVA

...phew!

I think that's all lol.

Still plenty more to watch too, including Rahxephon, Venus Versus Virus and Read or Dream which my mother has got me for Xmas. Can't wait!

Auro/Darren

No prob Auro. Though in regards to FMA: Brotherhood, be prepared to not see some of the characters that were in the later half of the first series (since they were made up). The Tringham(sp?) Brothers.. (I kinda forgot if they were even in the anime at all.. but I want to say they were in one of the first few episodes), Archer, Dante, Wrath in the form of Mrs. Curtis's son, Sloth in the form of Trisha Elric.

It is nice to see that Kimbley plays a bit of a larger role and he's not quite so psychopathic, but still quite evil.

Also, a fair warning about Venus Versus Virus... <_<; Don't get your hopes up with that one. For me it was kind of a disappointment (I also wrote my review on here back when I watched it).

Before buying series relatively unknown to me (such as this) I usually do a bit of research and read reviews first rather than just buying without thinking. Granted it did get average or less than average reviews I pretty much decided to get it based on price and the fact it wasn't rated as complete and utter crap so i'm taking a chance here lol. I'm not expecting too much here but I have been known to like and appreciate series that the masses generally appreciate as much. And example being Kaleidostar which ranks in my top-5 anime of all time and is regarded by most to be good, but not outstanding.
I think if I was spending my own money on this i'd probably have given it a miss, but because it's part of a budget given to me by my mum for xmas I ended up with a small amount of cash left over to spend on one of a handful of bargain bin-esque dvd's. It was a toss up between this and Shattered Angels ultimately and because that series had far worse reviews than Venus Versus Virus I went for that.
