Ok, so I finally hit the stage where my lil egg became a man... er chicken... er chocobo. Anyway, I'm now able to ride it, but one thing makes me wonder. Is there anyone else here who got a yellow chocobo that isnt "totally" yellow. Right now my bird has yellow feathers with red tips. Did anyone here get a fully red or fully any other color?

And if you did, did you feed it anything out of the ordinary? Like say nothing but one specific food. Or do you guys think ALL the beggining birds will be yellow with X color so that we'd have to mate them to try and get a red/blue/green/black/polkadot chocobo.

If so, I got's me a male chicken and idk if its gay/straight/bi, hes makin me a red bird dammit! I WILL have a chocobo properly named "Red Zepplin" if it kills me. And by "me" I mean my current chocobo. I guess I'll have to have a "Red Zepplin Sr." for now.

Edit: ...now that I'm looking at the other chocobo's in the stables it seems like they ALL have red tips >< . Damn, and I thought I had some weird mutant chocobo.

Sounds like Red to me, Most ppl gettin different color tips mean they grow into that color, although I didn't think they added colors yet, but sure enough they did.

They said about a month before the patch was released, that they would be adding 2 (and only 2) new adult colors, with the launch, which were Black and Red.

As far as breeding is concerned, it sounds like the only way to get a colored Chocobo through breeding, is with a Colored parent (this was suggested in Upper Jeuno, off an NPC in the stables), so to breeding won't create new colors, if the parents were both Yellow.

As for the colors people recieved, I've heard that theres been a few (very few) Black Chocobos, and...I think I heard of 1 Blue. The "young adult" phase, had them with their adult colors, on the tips of their tail feathers...so a Black adult, should have Black tipped tail feathers. The ones that have turned out Yellow, all had Grey (some people say its White) tipped feathers. The color you get, apparently, is based on what color the tail feathers are, nothing else (at the moment). I'm also pretty sure, that food doesn't play a role in the resulting color, however, the different breeds, have descriptions leading to believe that they must have a certain stat, quite focused (Black Chocobos [Destriers?], supposedly are very strong, for example).

I can wait until someone cracks the code before I even touch choco's, why waste gil trying for chance of something i most likely wont get and the next day or so(exaggeration) someone comes with a full blown list of choco colors and how to get them

To raise yourself a race winner? Then raise yourself your riding chocobo. Kinda like a work car and a personal car. Who cares what color the one racing is, as long as it's winning.

I'm currently working on a racer myself.

Mine is yellow :( I want one like tidy's...

My choco's strength just hit Impressive yesterday and his endurance A bit Deficient. I haven't seen any noticible change in the color whatsoever, but I'll check again today. Its yellow, btw.

I am on my 3rd choco I love all my pets but I cant seem to get anything but yellow :(

Dude I see this thread, and I see your name under it. For a momentary second, I thought the thread was titled:

What color is your Mr.Wonko?

ROFL

I want a black one, with high strength and endurance...and an assault rifle to take care of pesky mobs...
