What does this mean ?

This problem is not an isolated one. Although I haven't heard of any Americans dying from playing 52 hours straight...

I do know of many people that have let their RL suffer from playing too much. Typically life itself is overwhelming, or disappointing so they escape to a reality they have more control over.

And that my friends is what video games are all about, escaping from reality. Because.. let's face it, reality is a b!tch, and a dirty wh-re most of the other times.

/hurray from escapes, they are much needed.

Though perhaps Serise just used to over do it (or still does?)

i am just a linguistics student, so my translation could be a little bit off. but at least it is better than your altavista translation lol. the parenthesis in the translation are my comments. i romanized it so if anybody knows spoken language but not written they can take a stab at it too.

uchi no osuko wa aisatsu mo dekinai shattai no waso i i de . .

kono 2 toshi wa chaa gatsukou mo kou kazuni ina ??? motte wa geemu bakari de shin hai.

yappari gatsukoo de ijime rarete ni no ga gen in nan deshou ka.

translation:
Their son has not been fulfilling "aisatsu" so he is a bad person (kinda like he has not been fulfilling his regular family obligations). For 2 years, he has not been going to school and he has been putting most of his heart into games (i don't know one of the kanji in this sentence, it could change the meaning entirely). Also, this could have been a compulsive act because he was getting bullied at school, do you guys agree?

Thanks for the translation Vilmar.

It's interesting to obtain a peice of infrmation from a JP posting board. Over there from what i have seen they don't talk much as a community. Probably because the site i was looking at they have to pay to be able to reveal their names when posting... Or atleast that is the impression i got from it.

I would imagine Serise wasn't too impressed with his family for showing up in that thread.

I look at Serise differently now :O

when was that post dated?

Last i spoke to serise he was attending school and preparing for the standardized tests that determine which schools he can apply to for his next leg of education.

A few things one must realize about the japanese boards is that users are not required to use their in-game names to identify themselves, and they rarely do. Serise is definatly a haijin, no one can argue that really, but I am rather confident in saying he still manages to attend school (whether he is doing well or not is another matter :p).

My point is that one must consider that the statements that were made in that post would not give any lasting damage to the poster... and often times Japanese flames on each other contain very hyperbolic claims, because what is said on the boards cannot be associated with an ingame character.

Also note that about two years ago there was no lovelost between HNMPT and JDA (or whatever they were called than), and while Serise has forgiven Kurei I do not know if the feelings are mutual... Also, members of the two shells may still be bitter towards each other. If your search was on HNMPT it is likely that they were involved in this thread somehow, which is why i bring up the above reference of discontent between the two groups.
