What happened?

I got DC'd because of a storm and when I logged back on my AIM would reconnect, my time in the bottom right corner was reset. And now when I try to log onto POL I get the message, "Error CodeOL-1153 Problems with the HDD data we're detected. Version update failed."

Someone help, I suck at computers and now I can't even ask anyone on AIm either for help. =(

it happens to me all the time...

POL super lags due to horrible internet while checking for an update, and it fails.

It then of course automatically assumes there's an update and states the non existent update has failed.

Basically, you disconnected before you where even connected.

I don't think this is lag, because my AIM and my Ventrilo have died as well, I can't get on AIM, Ventrilo, or FFXI. Yet I have internet. I don't understand and I need to know how to fix it. :/

It just means your internet isn;t good enough to get 100% ffxi.

You can do low bandwidth stuff like surf and post, but chat and ffxi are out of the question. Your internet is spiking.

Just wait, it'll be fine in the morning.

What is this spiking thing? I've never heard of this. .... sorry for all the questions....ask anyone that knows me me. I'm pretty illiterate with computers. :/

Your connection is flakey because of the storm. Meaning it keeps going in and out. You need a constant connection for things like ffxi and chat.
