Sweet pics : ) I love the Twinkling Treant ones. Hadn't seen any but my own and that was before I knew about fraps. Ahh good times good times.

Twinkling Treants was the Christmas event from last year. There were big treants put all around the world and they took forever to kill. Literrally spent like 2 days fighting the one in South Gustaberg which was like a Lv20 cap I think. After they were all beaten on the server we got the teleport to outposts added (those guys in the green shirts at every outpost).
 
haha lmao soooo there were no outpost TP's before that? what was the story? how did the tree o' sparkles stop or enable outpost TPing......
 
Yah before that there was no such thing as a teleport to the outpost. I can't really remember WHY the trees were around...I think something about them being decorated and then just getting up and walking around causing havok. If I remember right SE never said what we would get for beating them until a few weeks after they were all dead on the server and they never explained what that had to do with teleports I don't think haha.

as jimm explained before it was the christmas event, no one really knew what was going on, so we all decided to try to kill the massive trees

i actually fought one from start to finish... 18hrs it took to kill it x.x
that event is where i met some of my best friends on ff

and yes thats my wedding with kintsuchi :D
i think i was the first NA on our server to get a wedding :D
and the GM even called me the Subligar King durring the ceremony :D
 
The reason they took so long to kill was because Square accidentally gave them too much hp (extra zero or two at the end). Nobody could figure out how to damage them at all. There would be like 80 people attacking at once and treant health wouldn't budge. It was kinda funny though because everyone thought you somehow had to use fireworks to fight them since moogles in the cities were giving away free fireworks. People thought that air riders "distracted" them and to do damage you had to use sparkle hands when you use your weapon skill. Square released a statement about the bugged hp and fixed it, and the treants died soon afterwards. :)

all i remember about the twinkling treant was mass shouts in san and hitting it once and then it killing about 20 of us with an AOE. was still damn fun, though :D
 
OMG...I wasn't around yet for the treants, but I remember my husband talking about them...and me just sort of tilting my head from side to side like a confused dog and thinking, WTF? :D :D

I loved the Opo-opos though, they were still running around for a little while right after I started playing. That's how I figured out auto-follow. :shock: :D :D
