I cannot believe how unbearably stupid this thread is.
Most people don't need to spend money on super gear for a BC60, especially an easy one, and especially if they're doing it with friends.
The fact that you assumed this was their normal gear based on one quick encounter with no other evidence was not a wise thing to do. The fact that you continue to try to criticize him after he fucking explained what he was doing is just fucking retarded.

To be fair... if this person has "pimped out" gear for Vahzl then some of it should be in some of those gimpy slots I see in the screenshot. I wouldn't want to do a BCNM/ENM/Mission with this person if it was a capped fight.
 
Lack of edit button post: Don't let this be confused with end-game. I'd be willing to do endgame activities with them, especially considering they said they have Haidate and stuff, which leads me to believe there was actually effort put into that gear.

Sure, go ahead and wear your Santa Hat to Royal Jelly, I don't mind; that fight requires little to nothing. But you can at least put some effort into a 60-capped fight.
 
I would have to agree with the general consensus here and

1. Raian is a fucking moron. Feel all super important now? (zomgz! I flamez random peoplez!!11)

2. If it was a capped fight, I don't see what the big deal about it was. In my experiences, especially with capped events, about 85% of the outcome of the fight comes from the player's skill. the other 15% from a mixture of gear, luck, and preparedness.

If you know you're job effectively you can do *most* things (such as BCNM, capped fights... etc) with nothing but some event gear on.

Come back with a better argument, man.

You don't even need stona once you've got the pattern down, you can easily time and outrun or look away from it (I forget that bc, but I remember I almost always avoided stona after the first couple times)

And yeah, he sent you tells acting like a dick, an elitist wanna-be over level capped gear. The only thing I would complain about is your weapons, Yoto+1's all the way for 50/60 cap.

No, you don't need to put effort in to lvl capped events. Hell, my entire shell have done the Soboro fight completely naked except for weapons. lvl capped fights are designed to be easy.

The only decent thing you need for lvl capped events is an OK weapon. Hell, I do lvl 50 events in RSE. Sue me.

Several fucking times this person has said this is NOT their PT gear. Its a BCNM 60 gear. If you, obviously, believe that level 60 pimped out gear is going to help you more than SKILL, then I have a very sad (and most likely correct) assumption of your regular game play. You're trying to be an elitist and you just look like a chump. If you care so little about rate downs, you wouldn't spitefully go back and try to 'rate down' everyone that disagreed with you. Just shows how stupid and petty you are. Go play with your G.I. Joe's, sonny Jim. No one gives a fuck about what you say.

Try listening (read: comprehending what you read and letting it sink into your thick skull) this time, it'll help you out.

People like you amuse me so much because you take something totally random and blow it up into this huge deal over nothing when all you end up doing is making yourself look idiotic.

First off, who the hell are you, out of nowhere to question anyone about anything? Last I checked there's no Fashion Police in FFXI busting people for minding their own business. This wasn't a person who showed up to merit in level 24 gear. This wasn't someone who answered your shout for a mission or quest. So your opinion of what they are or are not wearing in their own personal offtime means precicesly dick. You don't know what they were doing in that gear, and since you had nothing at all to do with this person other than a random check, it's none of your goddamned business anyway.

Let me school you some since you seem to be having some difficulty. There are BCNMs you can do solo or duo, naked, and on a moment's notice. If a friend asks me to help out on a BCNM 60 on a whim, which I generally don't do, I'm not going to go out spend a million gil and pimp myself out on cap gear for a 15 minute cake-ass BCNM that may or may not drop something worth a quarter of that. I'll have some sweet pieces saved from CoP cap gear maybe and fill in the rest with stuff that will suffice. It's what you call common sense. You should try it sometime. Like by refraining from posting this kind of stupidity.

If someone shows up to fight an hnm in this, then you have a right to question that logic. If they come to dynamis or limbus or even sky in this, yeah, I can see saying something. But to go seeking some random person out just to try to make them look bad and degrade them is pretty pathetic, and you need to find something better to do with your time.
