What job do you get rusty at quickest?

I tended to be a bit rusty with COR when I first started out with it, until I rewrote all my macros to tell me what the various lucky and unlucky rolls were. Aside from that, just balancing tasks and timers has always been pretty easy for me...

Oh god, RDM for sure. I was out for a good 9 months, and left with people I'd pty'd with or whatever randomly /t'ing me, "Hey you were really awesome last night" (If only women were this forthcoming) Came back and I'm quite certain my first 3-4 merit ptys will never invite me back. lol I was terrible. Just couldn't see what was goin on anymore, prioritized wrong, paced horribly, just generally stunk up the Mamool staging point.

A little snafu entering Limbus locking out all other mages save me, and a few other "Immersion therapy" tactics by my man-bitch Kile whipped me back into shape. I'm weird, the more calm and controlled things are, the harder I suck. Yet when shit is crazy, plans go to hell, and people get scattered and panicy, I seem to shine. Odd.

Any mage job for me short of BLU.

Im so used to being a tank that if I steer away from a mage class job for too long, trying to get back into it is a bit difficult and frustrating.

Im sure everyone here has one or more of those automatic reactions during a fight.

Mine would be to autmoatically target the mob and engage, then proceed to gather as much hate as possible.

Not a good idea when playing WHM.

<typical "I'm leet" response />

In all honesty, I find WHM the most difficult to jump into due to the burden placed upon you to perform, to ensure the parties survival and keeping tabs on member's status effects et cetera. RDM is sometimes difficult, particularly from going from a duo situation to dynamis.

Smn

seems kinda odd I know but I was picking it back up so I could get to 50+ after i got whm to 25...

I realized I forgot how to carby pull/kite and my pt noticed very quickly in CN and forgetting that avatar aoes are hateless(on mobs that you dont direct the attack on...)

bst as well

rdm and blu I use too much so it's not so bad

I'd say BRD is up there. You have to really have a flow going when you do brd.

To be totally honest,..I would have to say my main, Drk lol. I know there isn't much to hack,slash,drain magic, rinse and repeat; but I tend to takes breaks from FF more frequent these days. So getting back into the groove of things takes awhile,..not too long, but sometime nonetheless. hate distribution, SATA positioning, all that factors in as well; oh,..not to mention pting with a sucky PLD >.<

I took a couple months off and for me the hardest job to get back into was BLM. I showed up the first night for sky and for the life of me couldn't land a MB or stun the right move/time I was supposed to. With my RDM I just picked it up and snagged a PT and it was almost like I didn't miss a beat.

BLM's hard to get back into. Nuking just enough, but not too much, is very easy to forget how to do...and quite costly in endgame, should you forget.

When I came back from quitting for 6 months, I played on war in a Puk pt and I didn't do to bad. But then after about 20 days+, I pted with my friend on his drk and his friend on her sam. And I have to say.... I did pretty shitty :(

My timing was completely off, when the SAMs SATA wasn't up I'd voke instead of the tank. We were doing colibri so I couldn't use food since I was voking, and my highest Rampage was like 350 >.<

Long story short, I did pretty shitty and felt like a complete noob >.<

After each of my breaks, soloing and pushing the overload limit in parties (yarite) on PUP is always hard to get back into. There's a certain level of uncertainty in your commands, so it's hard in the first place, though.

Ninja o.o ...Hard to get into your groove after you've stopped playing it a bit. BRD too lol ...not as tough as NIN though.

If I haven't played Beastmaster in a while it usually takes mes about 15 minutes to get back into the groove... if that counts.

For me it's definitely Pld. I took a break for about 3-4 months except for the occasional cap fight and I was terrible in those. My hate routine was all messed up along with timing for casting and JA's. It took me a good hour or 2 to get back into my normal routine once i started to level it again. I use Blm all the time for dynamis and merits so I never forget that one. Thf took about 30-45 min to get back in the groove on that.

Peace,
Shmed

I don't get rusty, I'm just too awesome.

You NEED to get rusty at your drive-by killer humpings. -_-;;

WHM gets a little rusty for me, so does PLD. PLD takes a few minutes to get my timing back in, and WHM for the haste cycle to get back up because I'm just so 'omfgwtfdoidonow' panic. I've been playing both jobs pretty regularly so I haven't had this fiasco turn up in a month or two. It usually leaves my RDM going >.>; which always makes me giggle XD
