I am a Maremma Sheepdog

Origins

Italy. Directly desceded from flock guardians that migrated from the Middle East. The first record of a Maremma Sheepdog appeared 2000 years ago when Marcus Varro almost exactly described the standard for the dog. In its native Italy, the dog is also known as the Abruzzese, because for centuries, this shepherd dog spent from June to October in the Abruzzi region and the rest of the year in the Maremma.

Personality

This dog will never forget a kindness of an injury done unto it. To quote and Italian expert, "If you want obedience and submission keep away from our breed, but you appreciate friendship given and received, a trace of humour and much teaching of the lore of the wild, a typical Maremma is the best you have have." Pure Italian sentiment.

Afghan Hound

Origins
Afghanistan. An ancient breed with ancestry going back to Persia and said by legend to have been one of the animals taken into Noah's Ark. A member of the Greyhound family it was bred for it's speed and acute vision.

Personality
This elegent and beautiful breed is generally affectionate and good natured but will not tolerate teasing. Intelegent and somewhat aloof it requires plenty excercise.
