I'm finishing up hitting lv 70ish on my woodworking, and will cheat and use lu shansg to go to 80, then so on to 100

Anywho, I've recently finished savign up a huge amount of money for soem gear, then realized I didn want that much...

So, I'm wondering what is the best profit craft that I can get to the point wher eyou stop spendign money and start making money, with roughly 500-600K. I'm thinking cooking to level alongside fihing, but it wont be worth it unless I get raw fish handling. And since I'm savign up fishing gp for serpent rumours and mooching, I can't afford to build gp in cooking atm.

I can probably level cooking really high fro practicly free due to my high fishing, so I'm looking for more of a craft that will compliment woodworking in the money business, so I'm thinking either alchemy to make bolts, or smithing to make.. well everything.

Suggestions? Basically I'm tryign to find out what my best craft to level would be to level next to maximize profit, I intend to get as many as possible to 60+ then start capping them one by one...

I can't say I really know anything about Cooking, but it's supposed to be the classic small profit, quick moving items market... especially when coupled with Fishing. You'd have to ask someone how the consumable market is these days.

Alchemy used to be relatively cheap to level, and it still is up until the mid 60's. (Hell, I made profit when I leveled it on my main and my mules) However, there are a few paths from 60-100 that used to be bearable and no longer are with the shift in markets. Therefore, what used to be a relatively easy craft to level, now is a pain in the ass.

Smithing, with 500-600k... I wouldn't even bother looking at it. Smithing can be a great money maker, however you need to have a few million minimum to dump into it.

Also, before I go any further. I just reread your post. You are aware that you have a maximum of 40 levels to distribute over 60, correct? Meaning you can level 1 craft per character to 100, and cap the others at 60.

So, if you're leveling Cooking on a mule, it won't be as convenient as you might think. Simply because you won't have the Fishing on the same character(assuming you finish WW on your main), and will have to DBox a lot, which gets annoying.

Whoa whoa whoa...

WUT!??!?!

Thats retarded, I want 100 fishing, and now I wont be able to? (WW alreayd >60

Thus, if I even slightly go over lv 82 woodworking, I can never get the ebisu, wtf...

You really can't be serious, right? Why the hell would SE ever do that? My god, most retarded idea they've ever had, if we want to have a second level 100 craft, why the hell not? Gdhsaukgbfsdhjvfasdhfabsd

Fishing does not count towards that 40 level cap. It is not really a craft, and does not directly effect any of the actual crafts.

Also, that is one of the basic facts about crafting. If that comes as such a big surprise to you, you may want to take the time and do a lot more research. Otherwise you are simply going to throw away your money.

Yeah, what he said. If you're already 70 in WW, The max you could hit in any other non-Fishing craft is 90 before it will start to knock your WW back down notches. You should probably become aware of that lol.

Personally, if you're looking for a craft to stop leveling and start profiting, I believe you are sitting right on it. Watch AH for bolt heads, or team up with an Alchemist who can craft em for you, and go hog wild on bolts. You're well over the 50+ levels you need for 50% HQ, and can probably make a nice solid profit just banging out bloody bolts and either selling them by the stack, or quivering them (though not nearly as profitable). If you have a mule or two, the things sell rapidly and often. Best part is there is no risk, as the worst you can really do is break even.

My WW mule is @ 71, and i can easily make 200k a day by buying bolt heads from Tim here and owning the market for a whole day.

4-5 mules constantly reselling on AH is nice.

As with anything in this game, you (general you; not you in particular) need to research the workings of the crafting system so that you don't end up wasting gil and loads of time for nothing. As far as the best profitable craft is concerned, there really isn't one. Consumables are safe for the long run when the market gets flooded with gear and prices drop due to no one buying, but it's small profit and requires selling quite a bit. Non-consumables sell slower and usually are a loss/synth on NQ with a large profit on HQ. With woodworking, you have a decent middle ground where you can craft a good amount of consumables while trying for the high-profit HQs.

For 500-600k, you can get almost any craft to 60. Don't blindly follow a guide claiming it's the best path to finish a subcraft. Check prices of your target synth and how often they sell. Also check the NPC price to see if it is better to just NPC for the quick cash. Many crafts less than 60 you will probably focus on consumables and crafting mats for skillups which for the most part will be at least break even.

Asking what the best synth is for a certain craft will more than likely not turn up anything. People are not going to be completely willing to toss out their money-making methods, except for exodus. Do the research - it isn't that hard or time consuming.

Oh thank god D:

K, well at the moment I've been making my fortune by bouncing back and forth between beetle/horn/demon quivers, depending on demand.

So I'm thinking I'll level alchemy first, since it seems to be best compliment to WW.

Then use profits from bolts to level smithing and then bonecraft, then use the combined profits to top up Gold to 60, and finally cloth/leather, if I feel like it.

Gonna make WW my only 100 though, <3 being able to synth my own furniture, <3 SE and the mh friend update, prices for furniture skyrocketed >3

I'd attribute that more to the massive increase to storage for the furniture, and not necessarily for the friend update, but meh.

WW is fine. I never plan on leveling WW so go nuts! Also, when you level LC sub make sure to skill up on Behemoth Mantles from 55-60. 15 levels under the cap for crazy skillups!

Just listen to Sano, and everything will be fine.

Sanoske SHUT UP you're giving away all our secrets! There goes my best profit synth :(

As Carste said, though, asking this question probably won't get you anywhere because people like to keep other crafters out of their field. Go fish, I say

From my experience (57 GS only), this is quite expensive. Until 51 it costs less than 2M I think. After it's an exorbitent price. 51->57 cost me 2M or something. After that, it's dement.

I think you should have a decent money maker prior to hope leveling anything craft-wise. 600k is nothing.

Yea, I want to say GS 55-60 cost me ~3-4M. I always think I must be mistaken, but I know it was mad expensive for just capping a subcraft.

I do bolts on lazy days when i dont want to find the mats for my real money maker
