If this was a few months ago I wouldn't know what to tell you since all I did was work and play FFXI.
Now since cutting back almost all of my time on that (w/e you call ffxi) I go out to eat with friends more, and have more time to spend with parents when they're around.
Two nights ago a friend asked me to go out with her on a surprise star watching evening, which was a long time hobby that I rarely had a chance to do anymore, it was very refreshing to say the least.
I play the piano, listen to music, take care of our fish...
I txt more, that's for sure >_>.
I honestly had a hard time deciding what I would do, for instance the thought of... "with no FFXI, I'll be bored..." since you feel like you're not 'working' towards something anymore whether it be a goal in RL or in game. Of course your job covers the RL part, you get paid!~, and you don't want to waste the rest of your time since you are probably used to the "stressed, I have to do this - to get this in ffxi" feeling. But once I let the game go and get a breath of fresh air, without having to worry about it constantly, it's a really nice feeling. Even if you can't think of anything to pass your time with, which is why I assume you made this thread, the first thing to do is just step away from xi cold turkey. You'll feel better and more free instantly. Everyone and I that have done this has found several enjoyable things to do that don't include playing other video games (until Starcraft II comes out, if that will ever happen).
Sometimes when you're playing, just stop, put the computer down and pick up your head once in a while and take a look around. It's life, and you can miss it if you don't open your eyes.
