I'm sad now...I...do *not* want to reinstall anything...

I don't get it!
Before all that happened, Playonline started up normally, and I clicked play, and it began an update (of 13 files, everyone else got that update recently?)
But then as *soon* as it was 100% finished, (or else 99.9%) it quit, said "Version Update Failed" and restarted...Then it started giving me those things seen in the pics D:

What does it sound like? Will I have to reinstall POL?
I pray that it won't ask me to reinstall XI as a whole >.> Holy good gawd, I'd be well into next week before the update completes! (lolExaggeration)

But yeah...Still makes me sad.

:banghead3: I like that face

I remember a long time ago somehow my pol.exe file went randomly missing so I couldn't start FFXI. I solved my problem by using the System Restore to roll back to my last restore point and everything has worked ever since. I'd say try that first. Good luck!

Or insert the disk and repair. But yeah, all you need to do is reinstall PoL

Yeah, I'mma have to reinstall =/

At least it's not FFXI....
Still is poo >.>

I prolly deleted something while cleaning up my hard drive (1gb of space left is not good D: ) But I didn't touch a thing in Program Files, so that's just so weird >.>

Up to you, I would suggest changing your password as soon as you can as well.

-_-;;; This happened to me today, pol.exe is magically gone. I don't know wtf is going on :\ I didn't even get on today, and 1 day ago it was working fine. I remember doing the PoL update but it was working fine. I guess I'll have to reinstall POL again...

My POL folder along with the FFXI disappeared all of a sudden...><

EDIT: Ok, looks like my FFXI folder got moved to another folder, wtf lol. Well I as worried, I didn't want to resintall FFXI again... still looking for my PoL folder-.-
EDIT2: yay, found my POL folder! everything seems to be working fine now. I still don't know how they got moved to other random folders, I didn't touch them or anything...>_>;

Like I said, I would scan for viruses and change your PoL password.

if you moved your files, then that's what happened. I was making a shortcut for data file swaps one day, and accidentally moved half of my ffxi folder to my desktop. Might wanna check to see if you could've done something like that.

I never even went near those folders though =/
I was moving tons of things from my computer's hard drive to my flash drive, though, and I deleted a backup folder I had in the flash drive (the folder called "Playonline" which I think has eeeeverything.) But it wasn't what my computer uses >.> So that shouldn't have mattered...
Just to make sure, I double checked, and it appears all the real folders and files are still there in the real hard drive....

Raaaaahhh...
And I can't find my disc!
But I'll get one soon.

I got my disc back the other day. I finally had time to fix this.
I opened POL, it did that thingy, told me to put the disc in.
I put the disc in.
Log in screen pops up!
Log on.
Update!
16 files.
16 files downloaded.
ERROR!

SER James M: Hello, Annie, thank you for contacting the PlayOnline Information Center. Just a few moments while I review your question, please.
Annie MyName: Okay~ Thank You!
SER James M: This error message means that there is file corruption preventing the file update to proceed.
SER James M: Unfortuantely that means you will need to reinstall the software.
Annie MyName: Aww =(
Annie MyName: So I'll need to uninstall, then reinstall? Just POL or FFXI too?
SER James M: The whole package, unfortunately
