So I got a dirty little secret that I dont' keep very secret....

Melee Whm = One of the funnest things in FFXI.

Please tell me there's others here with rediculous gear sets and an appitite for things that involve hammers and pain?

If you don't have a good shot of you "Swingin' yer Hexer" Here's a good spot to find like minded folks to perhaps going out "Clubbing" and get some.

If anything Just post some nifty glam shots of your Massacre Mage.
And a particularly high Hexa or two.

If this thread actually becomes popular(stickied) I'll try to maintain the reccord holder in this top thread of the highest 10 Hexastrikes. (Has to be Hex, the only WS that can only come from WHM) and... Pics or it didn't happen! No rules, no limits, be creative, big is big, is big is big. If you have to go out to the Boreal Hound or Ghost Clot(there's an 'lol' here if you can figure it out) to prove a point, so be it. But try to show some pride and get some real shots on some of the things those kids over in the warrior forum are bragging about...

I like this idea... esp since I started collecting some melee gear for my whm, solo'd and got the sea robbers cudgel just yesterday gonna work more on the sea wolf today, got a 1kish hexa off on one of the skeletons on a none nm boat ride but didn't think to SS it, if it happens again I'll have to remember to take a picture just for this thread.
 
someone needs to find the parse of my whm burn in sky back when the real lanien played and he was my bard. I raped some pots and won the parse
 
The nyzul ws for whm is confirmed to give almost or complete mp returns to taru whms. yes that's right.. you can technically melee in a merit pt now since actually resting is for chumps.

Looking at Izzy's gear he's wearing... Phraust, real Melee WHM's should break 1k easy with that. 714 Wearing Healer's cap + blessed briault + blessed slacks + blessed mitts. Of course, no idea on his other gear. Also, no food used either. Assuming it's /nin by his character's stance and I see no shield, guessing it's dual mace.

FYI, that wasn't Hexastrike... that was Mystic Boon.

Well I dont' know, It might cap out if it fills you up. Like if he was only missing 300 MP, it might only do 300 Damage. Any details on the modifiers yet? I'd assume there would be none if it's anything like the other MP WS's. And not sure, but Spirit Taker doesn't require the mob to have MP, does this one?

From the Wiki description, it sounds like it acts exactly like Spirit Taker.

Description: Converts damage dealt to own MP. Damage varies with TP. Yagrush: Aftermath effect varies with TP.

Huh. Any more info on the weapon used and how to obtain the weapon skill? The description of the mission isn't very helpful.
 
I'm on 360, so I can't take screenshots of chatlog etc, just scenery -.-; BUT I love meleeing on my whm. So I'd love to head out somewhere with someone who can actually SS damage, best Hexa Strike I did was 1500~ with /drk on a Too weak skele in Xarc - lol. Reverend Mail etc, it's too much fun.

Not high damage, but was pretty cool. Took this back in 2005. I remember thinking "that'd be awesome if I got multiple skill ups from the next ws" right before I did it.

I am currently trying to get hexa, my club is 209 atm. Any suggestions pn how to get it to 220 outside of the normal skillup pt? I normally solo but cant find pt members to go to the tree with :(
