How come everytime i try to come to qcdn i get a page not available screen or could not connect, but when i go through a proxy it loads immediatley, I dont always have to use the proxy because after a few refreshes the site comes up, but through a proxy i get to the site no problems, someone change some ip settings or block my ip partially? i dont see any other posts about people having trouble getting to the site

I get that sometimes too, but after a few hours it goes away, so I don't really mind.

Wonder if it has anything to do with QCDN being on a shared server with other sites. I would doubt it, but I've never had that problem so that would only be a guess. A very bad guess at that I think.

An admin or Reeve could quote me wrong on this, I would imagine QCDN doesn't have a static IP address? Most Web hosters do not provide a static IP address unless you pay alot more money, so itt may be an IP issue via server side?

I've been getting some pretty massive load wait times lately, and its only QCDN that does it.

I couldn't tell you why this is. ;( I'll talk to Reeve again but I think he's almost in the same boat as I am.

I've also had this problem in the past but it has been a good year. Now I have an even neater problem. Sometimes I'll try to connect to the site and it's as if the site doesn't even exist. I get one of those pages from my ISP providing me with links to things similar, like a search engine would. If I refresh the page, no matter how many times, it's no good. However, I can re-open another browser and sometimes I'm able to connect immediately. Other times, and most often the case, I have to wait a few minutes and try again for it to find the site. I think it's rather neat that for some reason the site seizes to exist despite it actually bein' here, just unable to be found. Anyway, just thought I'd share that as it may be somewhat connected to the issues of others.

Oh, that's just me toying with the fabric of all of you sheep's existences.

If only that where true :( We could play a little game.

This happens on our home PC which is connected to the modem, but on my laptop I get the same page not available as Chasym.

I think there's a perfectly logical non-explanation for this.

Research Reveals Internet "Black Holes"

Sometimes you try to reach a site and mysteriously you can't get to it. Perhaps you think its simply your imagination, something wrong with your computer, or perhaps the site is under attack. Or maybe the server that the site is hosted on went down.

However, the cause could be far more mysterious. With the massive amount of users trafficing the internet today, weird things are bound to happen, but about the strangest perhaps is the recently discovered, but long suspected phenomena of internet "black holes." Traffic is unintentionally routed into these holes at times, forever lost, even though a working path existed between the sending computer and receiving computer.

usually if i can't find a site by typing in manually and entering i just google it and it takes me to there.

Thus google is the cure for blackholes(or any search engine really)

I've had that problem before strid, just google it and you should be able to get back to it, I think it has more to do with the site's affliliation and how some search engines(namely aol) can't find qcdn.org or other sites but if i google it or use a different browser it works just fine.

I always knew the latency at my apartment was terrible, but damn, didn't think that many packets would be getting dropped:

Problems! At least 10% of Hubble vantage points were unable to reach the prefix XX.XXX.0.0/14 (or even its origin AS) with their most recent probes.

Did you know that Youtube is larger than all of the internet tubes in the year 2000?

Something to think about. Maybe Youtube are stealing your tubes. Pun intended.
