If he hadn't decided to scratch it with a screwdriver in maybe he could have gotten some back >_>

It fell off a chair and the motor mount moved enough for the platters to dig into the side of the casing which caused the motor to seize and head to crash all sorts of nastyness, he would have had to pay for data recovery if he wanted any of it back. Having the horror of owning a deskstar before I know that even the slightest shock will cause them to destroy themselves >.<

3 of us drank a bottle of wine to mourn all the anime lost ;_;

I just realized this wasn't a sticky. I thought it was. I actually try to update my post when possible.

I also think this might be a good reference for people who want to check out an anime that they haven't seen or heard of that perhaps someone else has in their collection.

been downloading naruto, as it was the first series I watched, other than some epic must-see's like Neon Genesis and the full length movies like Akira, Ghost in the Shell etc (I need to check out Stand Alone Complex, heard it's good)

but anyway ya I never finished it due to being bored by the filler and for some reason I can't bring myself to a) skip the filler, or b) just go directly to shippunden which is what I really want to watch, but would rather be fully caught up

Okay, as far as Naruto goes, techinically you can skip the fillers if you really feel like it's wasting your time and just head right into Shippuuden. As long as you've already watched the epic Sasuke and Naruto fight, that is for all intensive purposes the end of the series. Everything after that is just several different filler episodes and filler arcs until Naruto Shippuuden.
