Whats with all the gimps lately?

There is nothing wrong with a gimp partying. They can do what they want if people are willing to accept them. In that case, the friend is accepting there other friend.

We all pay the same fee. I just think you are hurting yourself by not being the best you can be at your job. It is much more fun seeing a 800+ DE over a 600 one. That is the difference an acid bolt makes.

haha yea. Anyways, if it weren't for gimps, my gear wouldn't make me feel so good.

BTW - Gimp does not mean you don't have HQ gear. It just means that the gear you are using is best suited for a different level, or is far inferior to what is available.

lol... GMP the new FFXI job class. I love dragoons, but even a dragoon would laugh at the job combo DRG/GMP.
 
Some people make me laugh im sorry but some your post i think are some what hypicrical. In the last 6 months alone prices have rose to astrinomical high and crashing low. Item that use to be 40k-80k are now 10k. Now this not not saying that a person cant farm but not everyone was around to benifit from the rise and fall of the econimy. there a diffents between poor good great and elite. Yet it seem that alot of people cut though last two and call them gimp. This type of aditude i belive is complete horse <insert>. It funny how the people taunt though that play the game for fun, yet whine about gil seller and gill buyers. to end this I say
"Never judje a book by it cover" some the uglist book have the best endings.
 
I admit, i got lucky on SH. I got mien before it hit prices higher than the current HQ SHs. However, anything I recieved after SH was after the lower prices. Money that I earned during the deflating prices.

Not a single person has said you need hq gear to not be gimp so would everyone please stop using that as an example?
we are talking about people too lazy to kill a lv 10 nm in gustaberg,that use shikaree rings for acc in exp situations, mages without darksstaff, rdm without dispell and refresh,people that didnt stop for one second and get something that is generally reqired in exp situations and without it WILL drop the exp per hour to incredibly shitty rates because thier gear sucks.
And as far as the whole lv 70 jse argument.. What about the 13? levels that a sam/drk/war had to level and get something so they can actually hit the monster when wsing?

Skill>gear
plus if you got a pimped nin but has shit skill and you got great gear your exp sucks as you end up tanking what also lowers exp/hr some times it is better to have crap gear so your tank can hold hate, the only job that should not be crap armoured is DD#1 the SC closer and the tank
 
Skill doesnt mean shit if a melee cant hit the monster or a mage has no mp unless you're referring to skill at running away really fast and even with that striders boots/crimson cuisses will make a person better at running away than a person with some skill at running away.

Depends on the situation. Alot of the time a well geared person can rip hate off of a gimped tank with just Auto-Attack alone. And technically, yes, skill does go further than gear, but anyone who's actually skilled would know that you can only go so far on skill alone. Even the best NIN isn't gonna go trying to solo Unut if he's wearing crap like Nomad Mantle and Spike Necklace. =P


Am I only one who finds it ironic that there's more gimped people now than there's been in a while, and prices are also lower than they're been in months?

Shikaree rings are acc+2 rings that give +4 acc when in both slots. Goddamn Fucking right I'm going to bitch about somone still wearing those at level 60+ or a thf wearing a noct beret/gatiers instead of a empypin/bounding boots at level 69 and yes I have been seeing thf at lv 69 wearing noct gatiers and boots.
 
I leveled Sam to 46 (low invites = leveled whm now.. will level Sam eventually..) I have pathetic accuracy gear.. and I stick to Sole Sushi. I don't miss often at all.. and I do very well. Well enough that tossing bers WILL take hate from a Nin tank unless they spend all their gil and totally spam Ni wheel the whole time.
I don't have "great" gear. I have Sam AF GKT, RSE Sachet (+1dex +1agi), Emp Pin, Spike Necklace, 2 Dodge Earrings I think.. the +3agi ones, Jujitsu Gi, O.kote, Verner Ring, Deft Ring (+3 dex), I have no cape since theres nothing good till 47.. Jaguar.. Belt I swap between Sword Belt (99% of the time) and Tile belt, I have life belt ready.. I wear Haidate+1 just because I look cute in shorts and its one of the only 6 ever sold on AH (at the time, dunno now), and RSE boots (+3 str)

Not much +acc.. and not much better gear to replace the acc stuff with.. and I don't miss much at -all-.
I doubt a Hauby would make a life changing accuracy over 2 Woodsman which are a good investment as they work with ANY job.

Don't get me wrong, again.. I will have a Hauby prolly 5 level in advance, but it's not a "must" just like nin with SH. it is LUXURY, not life.

Shikaree Rings give +2acc +2racc.. that's nice to swap in when youre not WSing/SATAing... Snipers/Woodsman like to jump to retarded prices randomly.. I know I will never ever buy 2 Snipers.. I'll grab 2 Woodsman.. eventually.. if I ever need to. :p

Yeah i'm not saying your gear is bad. Now the fact that you as a lv 46 Sam had better gear than a lv 68 Sam now don't you aggree thats pathetic? I'm not even sure if the sam was using sushi.
Oh and Shai. Sushi gives acc based on a percentage of your current accuracy so you are only just beggining to see the acc gains from sushi but you have the str gear to make up your any weaknesses you have in accuracy as far as overall damage goes. If you factor in the fact that 2dex=1 acc you have +17 acc which is actually pretty good at your level not counting in your higher mithran dex.
 
Was gonna add in, but Shaid also commented;
Shikaree/Archer Rings are very, very useless post-36. Deft Ring x2 provides the same acc (or you can get the agi rings for r.acc...) as Shikaree plus WS mod for over half of the melee WSes our there, and at 54 there's Fluorite/Grace as well..and even Grace isn't THAT expensive...so really, there is no excuse, especially since it takes a LOT longer to farm a Shikaree Ring than it does to farm the gil for a Deft Ring.
 
Khaj.. I am with you 100% on people being gimped.. I NEVER hit a level without being ready for it unless I got into one of those 4-5 level pt's.. and even then 90% of the time it's already in MH waiting ^^;
I have never before hit a level and not had the spell until WHM (I sold all the scrolls in Dec.. ty christmas!) so I requested some and bought some.. I just need Yhoat and Vhazl :D they are a pain in the tush.
Anyone who has PT'd with me knows I go all out on whatever job I am leveling... I've tossed half a dozen Morion Tathlums.. so I said NO MORE! DONE! gonna wait till 66 for Phantom and throw a half dozen of them too!
Then I wanted to level blm.. ... so I bought a new Morion.. which I tossed.. so yeah, bought another >.<

Why do I have to have the best gear I can? (and I don't mean Sniper +1 or PCC...) because it makes ME feel good.. Yeah making a pt run smooth is nice.. I could do that with full NQ and RSE/regular NPC gear with most jobs... but what's the fun in a job unless you're pushing out triple digits in Qufim? I mean come on.. The best part of any job, is being the best you can be at it. When you take hate from a PLD without Bers.. you can giggle to yourself as they struggle to take hate back.
I think gettng a Raise, while inconvenient is a hell of a good way to enjoy yourself as a DD sometimes.. Let alone the utter GLEE at turning when you see "Calls for help!" and tossing up 2h and soloing an IT mob to save the pt behind you.. I love having high gear, I just wish I wasn't so reluctent to blow all my gil as I earn it and buy 2 Woodsman, HQ staves etc.. But I am cheap.. so unless it's screaming "I will make you giggle" I don't buy it. ;p

I just felt Hauby was a bit much.. take into consideration I am also mildly retarded on Melee since I am a mage lover.. and I thought Hauby was level 68 req.. I have no idea what it actually is >.<

I see it now. I'll just group you into the "everyone should have everything" crowd that so many of the people on this board fall into. Guess what though, not everyone cares about the same thing you do. I know I don't care about other peoples gear because you know what, short of me getting it for them, what does it matter to me what other people have? Actually I blame the same people that bitch about gear for the reason that the Leaping boots and Emp pin and archer ring drops are now R/EX. People bitched and bitched about not being able to get it. Now guess what you still can't get it and even if you do what is it worth? Nothing. Get out of here with the gimp rants. If it wasn't for people like you then the game wouldn't be the way it is today.
