What's wrong with farming?

Okay, I just finished chocobo digging for the night, I'm in Port Jeuno, and I'm selling my items, however I get a tell from a person I don't know named Miwi, asking me to buy a Mage Ballad Scroll for her. At the same time, I'm talking with my friend Phynx who said that she pissed off a few LS members earlier in the day.

Being the nice guy I am, and how well my digging went, I decided to just let it go and just buy her the scroll. I check the history... it's pretty much going for 30k straight across the board, so I try it...

30,000... nope
31k... nope
32k...nope
35k...nope
40k!!!... Nope!!

WTF!?

I tell my friend PHynx

Me: something is wrong
Me: ballad is 30k
Phynx: so?
Me: but it's going over 40k
Phynx: Huh?
PHynx: maybe she put it up for auction
Phynx: think about it, your giving her 40k+ and her spell back

So I tell her that I couldn't buy it and she starts asking me for the 30k accusing me that I didn't even try to buy it. I told her that it was well beyond 30k, then she goes on to say:

Miwi: If you don't wanna buy don't do it then
Miwi: People in this game dont even hlep people out.
Miwi: so selfish
Me: I'm telling you it's over 40k
Miwi: It isn't
Miwi: I just checked
Miwi: you (Amateur)
Me: you wouldn't even know because you don't have the gil to buy it.

Miwi: everyone can see how much the player bid for it
Miwi: it isn't over 40k
Me: that doesn't mean that it's gonna be that price

after that I just started ignoring her. She's a bard!! she should know how to earn gil by that time, what's so hard about going out and killing shit? I mean she could go farm silk for good money. At that same time, someone else that goes by the name Capture was asking me for help on BLM AF head, what is this? Loot off Duragon day? Obviously no one got help haha, I just went to my mog house and stayed anon. BTW sorry I don't have pics... sucks I play on a PS2 sometimes...
 
Miwi is a complete jackass. She was spamming my girlfriend with tells asking her to party, when my girlfriend refused she kept asking, and then asked for my girlfriend to find her pt members. Then when we were pting in Dunes she kept spamming both of us with "Any Vacancies" even after being told numerous times we were full. She/he is a complete retard.
 
Sorry y'hadto deal with the cheapskate BRD, though it was sorta mean to just blow off the BLM AF help request =/ not everyone in the game is a leecher, y'know?

I don't even see why people buy Mage's Ballad, it's by far one of the easiest quests in the game unless you're a hermit or something.

Quest early and sell? Only real reason other than absolute laziness.
 
The only reason why I blew off the blm was because I thought he was RMT... you'd think that at lv.60 you'd have friends to help you do them with you, or if you didn't, you'd offer some kind of reward for others to help you with them.
 
I had to practically twist arms to get some shell members to come help with BLM AF3 lol. Everyone was either busy with sky, or dynamis, or exping, or some other thing.

Like I said I'm a nice guy, and I understand that people will try to take advantage over that. I don't usually turn down people, my friends in the game know me for that, I don't ask for much either, I would rather help people out.

and yeah, 40k, big deal right? but I ain't gonna pay a bullshit price than what was listed on the history list if I don't know the person.

I partied with her whm...she went afk without telling us
but we kept fighting with 5 and she just sat there leeching exp..
i booted her though.

Think that was Ballad II before RMT farmed Zvahl Coffer virtually 24/7 for a good month.

I was thinking of that but by that logic, if they're willing to put forth the effort to get the fame to do the quest, they'd most likely be willing to put in the effort to farm the measly 40k.
 
Very true. Hard to get out of the mindset that Ballad used to cost 400k+ >.>

God I miss that, and I shoulda sold it when I had the chance.

at two lv 75's, I have only a few people flisted, and out of those few none would be willing to give random help, lol.

People just dont help out like they used to, unless youre in a tight knit, which I dont really do in video games. But thats my problem, I suppose.

I help as many people as I can, when I can, however, because I think its fun. lol
 
Today aswell i got two /tell's from a pair of level 60 blm's both rank 5, with the same auto translate line asking for help with AF ... so i do not doubt you there :D

It's not that I wasn't willing to help, it's just that I was skeptical and if I was wrong on that, please forgive me, I usually don't turn down things like that, but it's really late here too... it's 5am, and I need to go to bed soon.

I do enjoy helping others, there's nothing like going to some parties and PLing them for no reason at all, or just accepting G2 help when people shout for them... You guys get what I mean.

I wasnt really quoting against you, just in general.

I almost never lend out gil because you cant really trust anyone. You could perhaps trust your friends, but come on. There have been so many "betrayal" threads, its not even funny. Friend of mine let a friend of his borrow money to get a V cloak. That friend never ever got his money back.

I don't usually hand out gil or anything myself, I do however lend stuff out to my friends in RL only because I know where they live :P.
