Everyone has dreams, that's why we can all relate to this. My problem though, is that I know I have so much drive and potential for something, its just that I'm not sure what for. I don't know what my dreams are.

When I was younger in high school, I seriously wanted to be an actor. Not a broadway one, not a really movie, but television, mabey even daytime. As I grew up I got discouraged from it, and moved on. I realized growing up I was addicted to video games, so I figured I would open my own store one day and sell them, or mabey go to college for game development and learn how the business works. But as of the late couple of weeks, I've come to realize why I love video games, and why I love tv entertainment such as The Young and the Restless. I love the stories they tell. As a child playing Zelda, or watching the show with my grandmother, I loved being learning the story of both. With that, I came to the conlusion that I love hearing stories. I think I would find alot of joy in taking part of designing the next huge RPG game or mabey becoming a daytime star.

Being famous was always another one of my obvious dreams, mabey I could work hard and become really successful in one of those feilds, become an important person or mabey even well known. Its something to think about, but its difficult to pinpoint what I want, especially when you have a hard time like this, not knowing what to do with your life.

So this leaves me at asking for your advice, and mabey sharing what you want to do with your life.

Please Discuss.

Well i lucked out. I wanted to work with computers ever since my brother got me into them. Turns out, my senior year in highschool i got an internship at a software development company for the military. The job has been exactly what I thought it would be, and the best part is they are paying for my tuition and its a payed internship.

Not bad eh?

Holy shit yes. >.>

Hair stylist. Just recently got into it. I don't know if I'll really pursue it as a career but it sure would be awesome. Also, a writer for a sitcom. I'd love to do that.

As far as advice goes, I couldn't say. I'm a young guy and I don't know what it takes to make dreams into reality. Hope? Luck? A fuckton of coffee? I suppose.

Accounting. My goal is to work for the IRS one day. That way when they tax MMO items, I can just audit my own taxes and get away with it! kekeke

But srsly....it's either IRS or some cruise line bookkeeping. There's only one other thing that gives me as much joy in this world as accounting does.

Should we even ask ^_^;

Hopes and dreams... its good to touch back on this every now and again. I used to be extremely interested in programming secure applications and such. Then FFXI happened and I lost a lot of interest in my goals. This summer has been an amazing one because I feel like I'm finally where I was before picking up this horrible habit of playtime. I am once again extremely interested in computer programming and I feel like I'm finally taking the initiative to get myself there. I have an extensive knowledge of C++ from school, and I'm now learning C# on my own to broaden my horizons. Soon after, I hope to get going on PHP and ASP.NET. Its been a lively and fun summer ^^.

One day I hope I'll have the financial means to give back to society. There is so much that can be done to help each other, and yet we still look overseas when people in our own country desperately need help.

Only one other dream of mine exists, and that is to be able to make incredible CGI animation... but that isn't something I'm holding my breath over. It would be more so a hobby than anything.

It's cheezy and corny. ;p Now program a website for me damnit! >_>/

but it would be full of bugs and non-goodness for I do not know much PHP or ASP.NET yet.

I originally wanted to be a Doctor or Nurse. Couldn't afford it and did badly on some studies so have no real chance at it...might become a cook since that's the only other thing I'm terribly good at asides chores (which I'd really rather not take up a career in)

I wish I had a bigger chest. Also wish I could be caught in some kindof neat romance like you see in movies and anime. Also want to be someone people can depend on in spite of my mistakes and shortcomings...are those really dreams? I feel like such a dork right now.

I've always enjoyed writing stories and drawing so I wanted to make my own comic books or write a novel. So far I have a lot of story ideas but haven't taken the time to make them yet. ^^;

I'm not really good with advice though. I guess the best that I can offer is that anything worth having is worth working for.

Any one of the three main emergency services (Police, fire, paramedics) However getting into the police would be by far the most preferble to me.

I've always wanted to enter marine biology.. I may yet still, when I save up enough money to attend classes for it. I want to explore the vast oceans, and find new kinds of life in the depths. Marine life is still a mystery in this day and age, and I want to be one of the ones who helps find out more information about it.

I know it's silly, but meh, I've wanted to since I was in elementary school.

Iowa sure as hell isn't the best state for marine biology though lol... but I would definitely move somewhere that is to pursue my dreams.

I'd just like to be someone i can like. i think the army is a great way to go, especially for me. I had an anxiety disorder for a long time, i still do i think but the army just makes the world go away for people like me. i mean, ya it can be hard and ya it can be sad but for some of us... having life set out more or less is awesome... in the canadian forces i just have a few basic things... show up for when i'm told, go to the gym and be fit, go where i'm told, fight for a cause. every man cqan be a hero in his own right by his own merit.

my dream is to be a hero that people remember, i want to save lives, maybe pull an act of bravery from somewhere inside myself and be able to look back when i'm old and say to myself that i did something real, i saved someone's life. i made the world for someone, gave them the chance to live their life for better or worse. i want to die with no regrets.

I honestly don't know. All IQ tests I've taken says I'm skilled in visual mathematics, and always above average in all other fields. I've always been interested in programming, and since programming is based a lot on visual mathematic aspects, I think I would be very skilled in it. I can also learn things I find interesting just by reading it once, hence I taught myself programming very fast.

However, I do not know if that's something I'd like to work with. I originally educated myself to be a programmer, but then I came to a stop and wondered if that's what I really wanted to do for a living. While I love programming and find it fun to do when bored, I love telling stories. I love writing stories, poems and w/e, and that's something that would be very fun to do as a living.

However, I just do not have the patience to actually finish anything I write. Thus I end up with a lot of half-done stories, or stories with a beginning but no end. I always get another idea that I start writing on instead.

I had a period when I were thinking about being a psychiatrist, and talked a lot to my grandpa about it, since he's a psychiatrist. He taught me a lot about the human psyche etc. And that's also where I learned about body language and how to read people, which can be useful in order to see if people are lying to you. However, I think listening and solving other people's problems all day would be somewhat depressing. Especially since everyone, including you (or me) have their own problems to deal with.

Additionally, I'm good at reading people, figuring out why they act the way they do, manipulating people, and I can use that to my advantage to lie about things if I need to, since I could use body language to my own advantage to make a lie seem more plausible. I also love arguing, hence I could technically be a good politician. Sadly, that goes against my own morals, since I hate lying politicians.

Which brings me to my current position. A store employee. I get to argue with angry customers, I get to lie to some of them, I get to manipulate them, I get to use body language etc. I also get to read people to see if they're lying about things they break. I also get to communicate with them over email and write a lot. Additionally, I get to be model for clothes for our online store. Sadly, I don't get to program the site myself =(

Either way, somehow I end up using most of my abilities and hobbies in a normal everyday job. I quite enjoy it, since the other employees are fun people to talk to and hang out with. However, that's not something I'd like to do my entire life either. So I'm at a dead end and can't for the life of me figure out what I want to do. So I end up being all over the map and constantly absorbing both useless and necessary information and abilities in order to find something I find interesting enough to work with. In either case I can at least use it for my own benefit, one way or another.

No idea but it's too late I am already grown up! In 6th grade I decided on Chemical Engineering and towards the end of my senior year the last thing I wanted to do was Engineering. Unfortunately I only applied to 3 colleges (Purdue, Rose Hulman, and MIT) and they are all known as Engineering schools. So I just went ahead and started my studies. Two years in I quit.

I now work in the development group and basically do the job of an engineer for less money... I should have finished that degree. :p

I have no real hopes or dreams other than being financially secure and able to actually have a decent retirement. It would be nice to get to a point in which I could at least give my future wive a choice of being a stay at home mom if she so chose. I also have to plan for taking care of my parents in a decade or so.

So basically Uzor is Voldemort?! wtf no wonder you're so smart when we clash against each other in philosophy!

I always cared to listen to other people's problems and understanding philosophy and politics in general. My teachers tell me I'm gifted in science since I tend to pick up on it quickly and I'm naturally curious as a result my mind is still open where as my peers shut theirs down a long time ago which usually happens until a later age.

Science, philosophy, or game design I guess. I wont do science since I wonder if i discover something that'll change the world will destroy our way of life due to my natural talent.

If i could be a professor in some great college that has a class on religious debate then i could possibly never hate work...or making stories for video games with some actual "content" to it that reflects societal issues.

Video games, media, sitcoms, etc. more or less is a blurred mirror on society's wishes and history.

They only want to touch those issues in subtlety I want to create them in video games like books do so well a job of ie Grapes of Wrath, Ender's Game, The Giver, etc.
