When will SE do there part?

It's a lot easier to kick people from a game that they're not paying you a monthly charge to access.

Just sayin'.

Yeah, plus it's easier to detect people cheating in those games than it is to detect a bot here. I don't think many people are going to leave because Blizzard banned a bunch of accounts for warcraft 3.

You know, if I do remember correctly, there WAS that one time where
Square-Enix banned all those 800+ FFXI accounts, remember?

So it's not that SE doesn't have any balls. It's just that they haven't
done any mass bannings in a long time.

They also do this in the WoW as well. If there is suspicious activity no questions asked you're gone, they just don't take excusses etc. plain and simple you're gone. As for the 800 banned Devifox did you say welcome back to the ones on our server last month when they got to come back?

Exactly

Exactly as Strid said them banning the 800+ accounts is good until they make a new charecter and lvl up to the point where they can camp all the best NMs like Valkurm Emporer, Jagedy Ear Jack, Leapping Lizzy, and all the other ones that have the high pricestr drops. The only one who can stop the gil sellers is the gil buyers and, I dont see that happening anytime soon.

So THAT's why you can't buy Gold for WoW.

Cleaver BUT, tell me...what's suspicious about farming? Everyone does it. As for duping, hacking, botting etc they have zero tolerance where FFXIs policy is "Well he's still at his comp so it's cool...".

I'm sure you can be suspicious of an account that's logged in and active for 24, 48, 72 hours straight. By 'active' I mean running around farming, not sitting in town or whatever (I don't play WoW, so I don't know what things like bazaars or a Mog House are likened to.)

And regarding bots/hacks/etc, that's a really blurry issue. Most of the hacks are just automated scripts that a live person watches to ensure they can respond to GM calls or whatever. Those kinds of things are pretty hard to catch, since (and note I haven't read WoW's TOS/Privacy Policy) the GMs and support staff aren't scanning your HD for third-party programs. I know Square doesn't. Hell, if they did, you'd see a lot of banned accounts due to the Windower and/or Fraps.

They came back and I left. Funny how it works. And they had at one point 150 thousand subscribers... and they ban 800... Good job there SE.

No not hard at all to catch someone just apparently hard to enforce in some games.

Under XI's current ToS, explain how Square can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt someone is botting/scripting, especially if someone is monitoring the script.

One word: Watch.

As for moving this forward lets just put it this way. You see how FFXI puts up with the gil sellers and their pitiful doings...let's just say Blizz wouldn't have that...based on the way they have dealt with things in the past at least I would assume. I had a buddy whos account got locked down for about 4 days for people reporting he was botting XP. He didn't bot and they later figured it out but to them "We'll investigate the matter further" isn't just a petty reply.

hehe.. that's why blizzard rox :D they get stuff done.. and they always make quality games with interesting characters and plots and whatnot. They have had more experience with online related games though like Diablo, Diablo II, Starcraft, Warcraft I, II, & III etc.

Most of WoWs bans were blantant cheats, and on my server anyway the blantant goldfarmers are still there. Cheats were actual warping through walls and hanging out in GM areas. Blizzy is sloppy with their coding :p

Which is hilarious because they speak english(somewhat) so we actually have fun with them. Goon Squad got them join a guild and we would invite them along for instances to make their jobs easier. They actually respect loot rules since no one would take them if they acted like shitheads.

1g1g1g1g :)

Also they ask us often to not kill their partners on the opposite side, most of the time we respected that so they wouldn't be assholish in return.

Oddly it works out and no one really cares if they farm.

I think it is simple is that their gill selling and the gil buying of people in WoW has little to no impact on most players, the AH is good and all but honestly, you want the real shinies you go and do instances for them. Soulbound on Pickup is the greatest thing ever.
I do not mind going to X dungeun X times and killing the mob X times for it. I DO mind having to fight X people for a chance to even fight said mob. And then having to wait hours for it to repop.

The goldsellers also rule the AH by putting uber gear up for sale and forcing prices up for these things so they can do real economic damage, because if you want your shiny epic item you jack your prices(or buy the gold) up and a cycle starts.

On my server though, theres about 2000 players in the top 5 guilds who work together and we dont deal with their bullshit. When they tried to put epics up for a thousand gold when they were normally 100g everyone laughed at them.

The Mal'ganis horde economy is dirt cheap, because of all the players actually worked together *gasp*

In my guild we had rules against buying from them, and if you bought their shiny item you got booted out of the guild, no guild = no endgame and shitcanned on the server. We werent assholes to the goldsellers we just didnt buy anything from them.

We controlled the goldfamers and put them on check.

Other servers aren't so lucky, on Lightbringer where I played my alliance character an a goldseller's item costing 100g would be 1000g, thus everything else is expensive as shit. Much like the inflation in FFXI where the game's normal way of making money is out of reach for the common player.

Good thing is you don't even really need the AH if you're an avid raider ;)

I would love to see more instance stuff, like in BCNM stuff.

Really, the best thing they could do is make all these drops that are stupid expensive rare/ex. That, and increase the drop rate across the board. There will allways be gil sellers, but maybe we can force em over to the Crafting side of things. I wouldn't mind seeing gil sellers having to craft to make money.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. Hell, there would be more of the crafted stuff in the ah, and it would keep them off in their own area, kinda out of the game

The idea makes sense Braydon. Therefore, it will never be seen at any time in the realm of Vanadiel. If it does, you might as well cancel your account because the Apocalypse will happen the next day.
