My friend was reading some webpages with these things, but they mostly seemed like joke bullshit. I find the truth often more amusing. But anyone have an interesting story about when they realized the relationship they were in wasn't going to list? Not sad, sudden bullshit like in the movies when you break up with your wife/husband after an argument.

I mean like when you're dating someone and you're still figuring out what kind of person someone is and you realize they're not the person you're looking for, and carefully look for someone else to be with and then drift away.

Listen I'm a little bit high so sorry if that didn't make any sense.

But anyway.

For me, I think it's when this girl with millionare parents who was a couple years too old to still be getting her masters(go 9 creds a semester), had never held a job in her life, asked me, "Why don't some people go to college? Why are so many people our age just wasting their life? What do they do!?!?"

It's not that I thought she was a snob. She was honestly asking because she was so stupid that not being able to afford college never even crossed her mind. It's not that she had the attitude of a girl who was rich, she didn't really have that "bitchy bitchy" attitude, it was just ridiculous stupidity. And I worried if I had kids with her, they might come out have retarded and I would have to spend the rest of my life pretending to love them.

Now that's a fucked up thought to go through your head in bed with a girl.

When I was 18, I had 2 semesters of school under my belt but decided to throw it away to go live with my ex, who lived in another state. I had a lot of family problems and felt this was the only way to get away from it all and have some freedom with an American family (I'm first generation).

Six months later, I came back to my family and told them I wanted to go back to school, so I went back to my ex and I told him I wanted to go back to school. Boy, did he throw a hissy fit. That's when I realized while he was totally content spending the rest of "our" life in a small town, flipping burgers or washing dishes at the local restaurant for a living, I wasn't. And I knew we couldn't progress as a happy couple.

Last I heard he was a druggie and didn't go to college.

When i found out she was a santeria high priestess.

I've had a few relationships when it just "hit" me that it wasn't going to work.

When I was a teenager I was dating this guy who was bat shit crazy, though I didn't know it at the time (dated a few guys like that...). I knew it was over when he told me that he'd seen the end of the world and saw that I have "something" to do with it. He then called me the anti-christ and asked when he'd see me again. We broke up shortly thereafter and I was inundated with prank phone calls from him and his friends. Funny enough he called me years later apologizing saying that he'd "gotten help". We became friends again and I hung out with him and a couple of his friends pretty regularly. He offered to buy some concert tickets off me because I couldn't go. When I asked him to pay me a few weeks later he completely blew up, pushed me into a wall and threatened to kill and skullfuck my friend, Mindy. I left quickly and never saw him again. He tried to call me a few years after that claiming to have gotten help again, but after he told me he stands on street corners converting sinners I gave up on him.

I dated a guy in college for about 2 weeks, if that. He was so extremely possessive, controlling and god-fearing I couldn't take it. His father was a senator or congressman or something and he told me it'd be an embarrassment if he was seen with someone who smoked and didn't act "in the Christian way". I'm not very religious and wasn't raised in a Christian household. Instead of just breaking up with me he made me miserable. He demanded to know where I was, what I was doing, why and on and on and on. I knew it was over when he went so far as to go to my house and demand that my mother tell him where I was.

Another guy I dated for a few weeks. My friend, Mindy, was dating his brother. We were all at their house late one night after my shift at a bar. He was another crazy one. I knew it was over when he held up a pillow and told me that he could kill me and get away with it. He smiled and was very calm but totally serious. We left right away and I never saw him again.

I knew it was over with my ex-husband when I realized he had no ambition in life to be anything more than an ignorant, dirty redneck. Also, because he finally decided to inform me he didn't really want kids with me after telling me otherwise for years.

She must have been from Greenwich.

Wow, I have to say that you've definitely had a run of bad luck with men. How about I hop on a plane and take you and your friend Mindy out to dinner? I'm a nice guy, I swear....

lol

I was lucky enough to finally find my perfect man, who is now my husband, so I'm all set. Thanks for the offer though. ;)

Mindy on the other hand...she might still be out there, she got a little weird, haven't talked to her in years.

Oh well, thought I'd give it a shot.

So yea, I dated this one guy for about 6 months. He was an asshole and verbally abusive, somewhat physically as well >.> I put up with it, I was 15 at the time and he was hot, so shallowness and stupidity was definitely at play. I knew it was over when I was hanging out with him at his house, he just so happened to be under house arrest for god only knows what, standing at his bedroom window he lit a pipe and a very sweet smell came from it. When asking what it was he was smoking he nonchalantly said it was crack and proceeded to offer me some. I left and blocked his number from my phone. I see him every few years and he asks who I'm dating and if he can have my number. I just laugh and shake my head at him. He was about 60lbs thinner, but probably dead now. /shrugs

My last was a very sweet guy. I did luck out with him. Dated for roughly a year but what eventually ended up dawning on me was he wouldn't do anything for himself. It's like he needed my permission to make a decision. That was too much for me I guess, otherwise he would make a great catch.

I was dating this chick once that had just had bad luck with some guy she had been dating for a few years. He had become abusive and a major ass after he started drinking heavily for some untold reason. Things were going great, until one week I got nothing short of a call of email as to how she was doing (she was attending NMSU, I'm in El Paso so its not a feasible daily drive). Finally I contact her mom to see if maybe she was sick or something only to find out from her mom that she had gone to a mountain resort with the "ex-boyfriend" for the past week. When she got back I got a nice little message on my myspace telling me that she was going back to him because "he needed her to finish his AA rehab and that she was his 'anti-drug' and the only way he could shape up was if she was with him." They got married shortly after that.

One of my ex's was pretty bad. We broke up and got back together several times but what finally ended it was his way of putting his best friend before me no matter what. I know that sounds awful but the "it" moment was worse. He lost his job over something really stupid but instead of going job searching like he told me he was he went to the movies with said best friend and I caught his lie. And it got better because I had to take him to court over a joint credit account we had. Over the last year I ended up having to go to court because his house went into forecloser and because I had a small claims court judgement I ended up in the forecloser crap. Its all worked out now but I was not a happy camper at the time.

Oh I almost forgot the ex that dumped after I got my first tatoo but not just cause I got, he dumped me because I apparently promised we would go get our first tattoos together (I have yet to remember that promise) it was probably a good thing tho. I later found out he was already buying me an engagement ring and I was still in high school (he was like 5 years older than me)

i'm amazed that i managed to avoid all the uber crazies. elph is crazy in her own way, but that's the natural crazy that comes with all women.

i can't avoid the crazies. i didn't know it was over until she was 3000 miles away with another "man".
