Hello again guys it's me,

I am currently leveling nin and was shopping the other day after farming bloods (nerfed) and found out that there weren't any katanas on the AH.
So I looked up some and found out that the few ones that were good were around 72 and some needed to be quested. I have the senjuriko (I think that's how it's spelled) and was looking at the fudo. Also for some reason I still can't get those O.kotes to drop, and was wondering which gloves should I be chasing?

I wore O kote until dusk gloves at 72.

For Katana's, I used:
Yoto +1's until 61 (defense down)
Kabuto Wari +1 until 66
Kororito +1 until 70
Fudo until 72
Senj/Fudo until I got Perdu blade to replace the Fudo, but I was 75 by then.

I'm definitely not the best NIN out there, but that's what I used.

sounds like a plan.... now to look up the perdu

Hand: Dusk Gloves, Katana: Senji/Unji *OR* Unji/Perdu *OR* Senji/Perdu

ah the unji i knew i was forgetting something lol
i got so caught up with the ungur and some other stuff i was questing/bcnm'ing

What Baja said except a few corrections, Yoto are level 46 and I believe you meant to say Muketsu+1 (HP drain effect) which are 54. Unless you're going entirely based on defense down effect, but they didn't process often enough for me to make it worthwhile over Muketsu+1. The rest is correct; however, I do believe the Kabutowari+1 were extremely expensive and very rare (or was it another katana?) when I leveled so you may decided to chose something more affordable in its place.

One last thing, dual Fudos are good until you can get Senju unlocked (should do it immediately once you can equip, but not in exp parties) and Perdu which requires high assault rank and 48k IS which you may or may not have immediately.

If you have a little cash to spare on katanas the Senjuinrikio/Unji or Unsho combo also works pretty well until you get Perdu.

I believe in a parse between Fudo, Unji and Unsho offhand the difference is minimal and the extra crit hit rate on the weapon only works for the hand it's in.

I think it's another Katana you're thinking of, when i leveled NIN early last year they were about 20k, and always available on the AH. Just try to focus on high damage for main hand, useful stats off hand (Enmity STR DEX low delay etc.).

Whatever you choose to use, bear in mind that as a tank you'll probably be invited to a lot of level sync parties -- so don't buy anything too expensive (at least until you're 75).

If you're fortunate enough to have O.Kote, I can recommend keeping them right to 75 even if you TP in Dusk Gloves instead, as they make a decent first WS piece for Jin.

Wow! I kinda forgot about level sync. I have the HP Drain NQ katana and sub dnc. It makes fights long but ever since I leveled dnc to 31, I've gotten a few new moves (SE <3). I'm thinking of store tp gear for when I solo nin/sam. If you macro in meditate, hasso (>.>), and third eye and time it just right, you'll have utsusemi: ichi up. One could dare to say Jin bumping...

I think I'll start working on katana since the crabs have no accuracy. I started polearm already on warrior and at 70 on nin I'd think the GK you can quest at 55 for evasion down would be nice. I've got another question but don't know if I should start another thread. It's about foot gear for nin though.

If you have any ideas, hit me up on this one please.

I remember them, but I never got the HP drain often enough to make them worth my time. I just stuck with the defense down ones because they'd usually go off once per fight and that'd help the whole party instead of give me like 10-20 hp when I usually wasn't getting hit to often anyways.

Little confused? You're thinking of using GK for NIN? Outside of farming runs where it doesn't matter much or skill ups, I wouldn't use GK as you'll get far more more from Katanas. With GK, you're losing ~44 accuracy from skill and ~50 attack. Even with the enhanced accuracy/attack from 2handers and the ability to use Hasso/Seigan, you're still at a severe disadvantage to katanas accuracy and attack wise. Plus, NIN does not get access to any of the good GK WS.

You don't need to start a new thread for feet gear, just ask the question. I am sure enough people will stop to read the responses and see the question even though it may not have to do with the original topic.

with feet gear, bounding boots/leaping > 39, after, Fuma for TP bounding for WS. I think that's what i did, it's what i'd do now, if i was going to level nin again.

I was only going to use it to skill up so when I level up samurai, I'll be ready and will only have to work on polearm a lil more. But I see exactly what you're saying. Another question for you guys. Should I just wait til the Fuma Sune-ate or just try and camp the level 39 haste boots although I'm level 63.

Pre-72 you should be looking to use, depending on the situation:

Bounding boots (Lv.7), Sarutobi kyahan (Lv.39), Ninja kyahan (Lv.54) and Rutter sabatons (Lv.67). They're all Rare Ex and easy to obtain - the first three you should already have had prior to the levels your Ninja can first equip them, given your other jobs.

Rutters are purely for Weaponskills for Ninja, just incase that wasn't clear.

If you're a Hume, consider Hume RSE boots at 62. Good for almost any job.

The level 25 Kyahans are good for WS and TP (HQ, +4 att) prior to Fuma/Sarutobi Kyahans. Since you expressed interest in leveling SAM, I'd consider keeping Fumas/Sarutobi for that job until both are 75. It also is a great piece for when you level sync when Fuma Sune-Ates become worthless, don't bother upgrading until you're 75 so that syncing doesn't really become an issue and even then, you don't have to since AGI isn't really entirely necessary.
